Recently several people gave me some explanations as to why these disasters have been happening, and I find it interesting…

someone told me that Katrina was in fact from God to punish the people in new orleans who hold those “Mardi Gras” parties/bars so much throughout the year where major corruption/a lot of stuff takes place…

i also heard the tsunami was from God because people in that area were practicing a lot of pagan beliefs and committing lots of adultery…

what do you guys think because i am stunned…

So God killed innocent children who haven’t done anything wrong in their lives, because others for decades have? Wow, I really like his god. Why haven’t massive amounts of people died in Las Vegas? Mardi Gras is one day, while Las Vegas is year long.

haha. i swear some religious people are such crackpots. it annoys the hell out of me when people explain everything bad that happens by saying “oh god and his mightyness is punishing them for their sins” or “the devil is trying to conquer” or some BS like that.

it was a hurricane that caused this. whether you believe in god or not, you have to accept that. and if there is a god, then i highly doubt he works in such unjustifyable and brute ways. and if he does, well then i’d never worship a god like that.

i don’t know about you but i’ve always liked the idea of there possibly being a forgiving and helping god rather than the “fire and brimstone” god that will smite us for our sins. but hey thats just me.

Don’t see an act of nature, especially one for which there was days of warning as being a punishment (presuming you believe in such things). I think the punishment is having the Bush Administration around (regardless of what you believe in).

because God controls everything, right? that’s what all the religious people say. anyone here who believes in God and has a religion [jew chri mus] but thinks that he doesn’t control everything?
