<p>I can’t remember having to waive my FERPA rights when I applied to the UC’s. can anyone else specifically remember if we had to or not?</p>
<p>It is never required to waive your rights. You can choose to waive them if you wish. There are as many reasons for waiving, and for not waiving, as there are applicants. Do not worry about this.</p>
<p>If you’re required to waive them, then they’re not really your rights, if you see what I mean.</p>
<p>I strongly recommend that all applicants waive them, but I’ve never heard of anything bad that happened to an applicant because he or she didn’t.</p>
