Volunteer work - I offer unpaid after-school tutoring services to students in my school, and have aided the Friends of the Library in fundraising for a new library the past four years.

Classes - I took the most rigorous coursework that my school offered, but we are such a small school (around 200 students 7-12) that we don’t offer AP or Honors courses. I have a GPA of 97.459/100.

I was a National Merit Commended Scholar, as well as a University of Nebraska-Lincoln Distinguished Scholar and have been awarded HUGE scholarships to other schools, though they’re not quite as prestigious - Tulane, Creighton, Benedictine College, and a full ride to UNL (WUSTL is my top-choice though).

I visited campus and interviewed - I am pretty sure they could tell how enthusiastic I was about the school.

-Are my low-range Math and Science scores going to keep me out of Wash-U or will my solid English and Reading help offset that a little?

-Will my lack of a big research project and community service opportunities hurt my application significantly?

You have a pretty good shot.

Thanks - bump?

From what little experience I have in this stuff, I think you have a fantastic shot at getting accepted. Your ACT is excellent and your ECs are exceptional for WUSTL. Your ECs are all of high quality and seem to have some focus. You do seem to lack some leadership in them, but if you have long involvement/passion etc., then I don’t think it will cause you much grief.

And no, your relatively low math scores should be fine, as long as you applied intending to major in something that is more related to your Reading/Writing, then they’ll understand. Everyone has strengths, and colleges prefer their students to be lopsided.

Best of luck. Care to chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1276395-post-application-chances-top-schools.html

Thank you Freddy!
