Washington and Lee Interview

<p>For Washington and Lee University, does having an interview increase/decrease my chances of getting into the school? Or does having an interview not make a difference? If someone could please let me know, I’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks!</p>

Interviewing with W&L</p>

<p>An interview allows the Admissions Office the opportunity to get to know you a little better than your paper application might normally allow. Further, it allows you the opportunity to ask questions one-on-one of an Admissions official. </p>

<p>Interviews are not required, but they are strongly recommended. You may begin interviewing as early as May of your junior year until December of your senior year. Usually there is enough time for parents to ask questions of the interviewer. Plan to arrive fifteen minutes before your scheduled interview appointment. </p>

<p>Please contact the Admissions Office several weeks prior to your visit to schedule an appointment. </p>

<p>If you cannot make the trip to Lexington, you may interview with a member of our Alumni Admissions Committee in or near your hometown. The alumni selected for our Alumni Admissions Committees are trained by Admissions staff and are as well equipped to answer your questions as an Admissions official. There is no preference between an on-campus or alumni interview. Please note, though, that alumni interviews are only available from the fall of your senior year through February 1st. You should contact the chairperson of your AAP committee at least two weeks in advance to secure an appointment. </p>

<p>it helps very much. i had an interview there (i am not applying because i reallllllly didnt like the school and i didnt fit in at all. but i can still understand why some people would lvoe it there) and they were very serious about it, they had very long, intellectual questions and my tour guide suggested to anyone who hadn’t already had an interview that they should. but definitley if you can, you should have an interview</p>
