@Ultra39w85 Where did you see the decisions are coming out on March 12?
Predicting it according to last year’s release on Thursday.
@Ultra39w85 I think I found on WashU’s site that it is supposed to be released on March 20 which is a Friday. If it comes out early on a Thursday, I’m thinking it might be on March 19th.
So I got an alumni interview request a few days ago. Is this normal? I feel like this is kinda late in the process… Also, does anyone have anyone know what kind of interview this is? My interviewer just said it will give me the chance to ask about their experience.
@Stardust2187 It is totally normal. There are a lot of interviews being done in the next few weeks. The purpose of the interview is for you to connect with someone from the school and to provide a more personalized version of yourself that may not come across on your application. The interviewer does not see your application or know your stats. Be sure to do your homework before the interview to learn more about the school and be sure to ask questions as well. Best of luck to you!
The timing does not mean anything – it might just be that it has taken awhile to assign you to someone since the numbers have been very high this year. WashU is doing its best of accommodate as many students as possible. As kanfly wrote, do your homework and have some questions. It is casual and a great chance to learn about WashU from someone who loves the school and has attended. Good luck!
What are the time frames on hearing anything about the signature scholar programs? Has anyone received an email?
good luck to everyone!
Rumor has it WashU received > 28k apps this year.
@Deferred124543 If that is true, 28K would be an increase of aproxx 10% over last year (25,400). Assuming that the yield is expected to be the same as last year then the number of admits would be about the same as last year = aproxx 3,550+/-. This would then suggest an admit rate of about 13% or less (v 14% last year). However, like last year, the admit rate for ED (ED1, ED2) would be higher than 13% and the admit rate for RD would be lower than 13%.
anyone know when scholar (merit) decisions come out?
@HellaStressed20 Historically, the decisions have come out after Presidents’ Day.
When is Presidents’ Day? The 19th?
Sorry lol, I’m an international, so I didn’t know
