@adamfromiowa and others. Although I’ve never been able to find exact statistics, WashU is a big waitlisting school. A lot of the time, students who have the statistics but maybe lacking in interest or some other department are waitlisted until WashU has a better idea of how many students will end up accepting the offer. From there, students from the waitlist are used to fill the rest of the class.
