how do you set up the flight through WashU? Is it through the scheduling of the spring preview day? or do you have to do it separately through Gwinn’s?
@hsalem32 You just sign up online, then Washu will order the tickets for you.
@CardinalSin2020 I checked UPS, didn’t see anything but got accepted.
I’m definitely going but don’t want to put down a deposit till the last minute…does anyone know the exact deadline (what time on May 1st)?
If I’d were you I would not wait until May 1st. You want to make sure they get your acceptance in time. If they don’t hear from you by May 1st, they will assume you aren’t interested and you will no longer be an accepted student.
As long as you make the deposit by the deadline you will be fine. I did mine last minute. They want to accept you as a student to protect their yield rate.
Currently waiting for Ivy Day until I make the deposit/commitment.
Guys I was accepted, but I put biology as my intended major. How do I change my major to Pre-Med?
You can change your major anytime. You have several years to decide your major. When you meet with your adviser she’ll help you with changing your major.
Pre-med is not a major. It is a course of study or curriculum.
If you want to go to medical school, then you can major in anything but you should have a pre-med curriculum which means you will take at least minimum courses that medical school requires - one year of general bio, one year of general chemistry, one year of organic chemistry, and one year of physics. Those classes are easy to fit as a bio major because, in general, the those classes are required for bio majors anyway.
You’ll have to use electives for the above classes if you want to major in something like English or History.
I would encourage you to take classes beyond the above classes like cell bio, biochemistry, & intro to psychology.
I tell kids who want to go to medical school that they should major in what they will enjoy whether it be biology, chemistry, music, history, French, comparative literature, etc but they need to have a pre-med curriculum to ensure they have the minimum courses for required by med schools and to better prepare for the MCATs.
@newjersey17 @ChicagoSportsFn Thanks a ton.
Anybody from Los Angeles going to multicultural weekend from Burbank?
Out of curiosity, what was the overall acceptance rate this year? I haven’t seen anything on it!
@TheWaffleMan149 Isn’t it 17.1%? That’s what it says with a quick search.
@FireBallsDJ I only see the 2013 rate of 15.6%
@TheWaffleMan149 Are you attending?
@DAVE437 I am not sure yet. It is one of my top two choices right now, along with UVa. I was just asking purely out of curiosity since it seems that every other school has posted their statistics
Is anyone going to the Multicultural event and leaving from the LAX airport this Sunday at 5:35AM?
What is the difference between Mullticultural Weekend and Sam Fox Visit Days? They are on the same weekend
Is every admitted student invited to multicultural?
@NickDS No, Only minorities are admitted kind of discriminatory.
