My son had never visited campus before, so he will tour this weekend. I wonder when WL decisions will be released?

Typically it is mostly in the weeks immediately after May 1, when they see what their enrolled class looks like so far and then figure out how many more students (if any) they need, and what sorts of students.

any movement?

Does anyone have some info on how many spots may open up, comparing to previous year? Will we hear back soon?

idk but if anyone does hear back, especially for arts and sciences pls let us known

My guess is WashU itself has probably been spending the last few days trying to figure out what happened as of the end of the day on May 1st.

I do think based on prior years they seem to target maybe around 150-200 waitlist admissions, which would be consistent with using the waitlist to fine tune total enrollment and various other institutional goals. But I also think clearly COVID and other unexpected dynamics can throw them off such that they either do more, or potentially a lot less.

And while recent events have not been quite as dramatic as COVID, there has been a lot of news about funding and other university issues, some big stock market events, other macroeconomic chatter, and so on. So I would not be surprised if various universities ended up significantly over or under their normal targets as of May 1.

Point being even the universities may need to do quite a bit of work before they know what they want to do with their waitlists this cycle.

so you don’t think they’ve finished pulling ppl from the waitlist? i heard about one getting off for arts and sciences and few others for business and art school

Could you share the source? Especially for arts and science. Thanks

Literally someone dmed me on reddit. There are also a few posts on reddit. Maybe take things on reddit with a grain of salt tho :’)

I think that depends on what their enrollment currently looks like. If yield was higher than expected, it could only be a few people off the waitlist that happens quickly. If yield was lower than expected, they could do multiple decent-sized waves over the coming weeks.

Can someone goes off Wash U waitlist share the good news here to encourage others who are anxiously waiting? Many thanks!

some more waitlist movement… not looking good for us :frowning: on reddit^^

Can you please share the links you see from Reddit? Thank you!

Just got off the waitlist. Biochem major
