WashU Early Decision Class of 2016

@rkdus0818

yeah, I go to a boarding school in colorado.
I live in Busan but I go up to seoul quite often cause most of my relatives live there.
I have a cousin in Bundang too! :)

Also, (this reason might be a little lame but it did contribute to my liking WashU at first) in the Princeton Review book WashU ranks really high for quality of life and happy students (also amazing food and dorms!). Those are just icing on the cake.

@nina1228

The student life quality and dining rating for washu are indeed high, one of the best, I think.
Although they weren’t major factors, those ratings helped me confirm my choice too!

@Jeunesoleil

Random question: is your username French for Young Sun? I am trying to brush up on my French before college. It’s been a while:)

Their dorms were incredible. I hated the dorms at the other colleges I visited. All this talk about how great wash u is just makes me want to go there more.

@nina
Oui, je crois que c’est correct. Je parle le fran

@nina1228

It is! Youngsun is my Korean name pronounced in English.
And I use jeunesoleil for my french class haha

@indyfan94

It’s my Korean name. It just happens to be super easy to pronounce :)

@Jeunesoleil
Colorado? one of my friends go a boarding school in Colorado :slight_smile:
how long did you go school in US?

@indyfan94
wow I surprised I could read what you wrote! No hablo el franc

When students would rather finish an orgo test than escape a (potentially) burning building filled with dangerous chemicals #washuproblems

@ryanmk
that’s hilarious! wow

also the dorms at washu are so beautiful. south 40 actually looks like some high end ski resort. and did you know ALL the mattresses are temperpedic?! the dorm room i went in on my tour was SO big compared to any other school dorm room i’d seen. the food is delicious too:) and nina1228 washu also ranked in the top for ‘schools that run like butter’ by princeton review!

Wow that is crazy about the fire! I would’ve been conflicted about what to do lol.

Actually a couple dorms have non-temperpedic mattresses. But yeah, dorms and food are amazing.

possibly less than 48 hours!

Wow that sounds a little weird. I hope everyone finds out on Thursday not just a few of us!

Does anyone know if Financial Aid information will be available online when they release decisions or will we have to wait for something in the mail?

Hi guys! As a Class of 2015 ED applicant, I just wanted to wish you guys luck over the upcoming days. I really hope you guys get in and come here next year! Applying ED was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and even after waiting the nine months between getting in and actually coming, I was (and still am) just as madly in love with the school as ever.

So seriously, good luck! I hope to see you all on campus next year!

thentheresme, can you answer some questions on ED notification (from what you can remember):

When did you find out you were admitted (day and time if you remember)?
How did you find out about financial aid - was it online the same time as you admit or did you get it in the mail?

Thanks

More fun facts!

1) The highest point in Pennsylvania is lower than the lowest point in Colorado!
2) It takes about 63,000 trees to make the newsprint for the average Sunday edition of The New York Times.
3)The Russian Democratic Federative Republic was the shortest lived country in history. It was formed on January 19th 1918, and was dissolved later that day.
4) 111,111,111 multiplied by 111,111,111 equals 12,345,678,987,654,321, which is a palindromic number.
5) On average, a child uses 730 crayons by his or her 10th birthday.

I’ll second thetheresme’s comment. I found out Friday evening after my friends had asked me if I got in… I honestly had no clue that they’d been out for a couple hours already. If I remember correctly, I didn’t get financial aid stuff until a couple weeks later.

I actually found out on Thursday because I obsessively checked the pathway and when I logged on that afternoon after getting home from school there was a link on the sidebar that said “Decision Notification”. That was at like… 5:30 or something because I had stayed late. But I’m sure it had been up for a little before then because when I logged on here a fair amount of people had already been posting about their decisions.

I unfortunately can’t answer the financial aid question because I’m extremely blessed in that my parents worked hard and saved so that I wouldn’t have to apply for any financial aid, so maybe someone else can answer better than I can.

And my acceptance package came the Monday right after I found out. My mom called me during the free period I normally stayed at school before newspaper and I raced home to get it before I had to be back. They sent it priority, I felt so special! And I still use the binder (they send you a binder, super cool) for stuff at home.
