<p>I have been accepted both into civil engineering department of WashU and CMU. I’m thankful still that I’ve even got accepted into these schools, but I have to choose now. I would like to ask the fellow CCers what you guys think about these schools, and which I should pick.</p>
<p>I thought WashU’s civil engineering department got disbanded? They only have structural engineering, which is now part of the mechanical engineering program, and environmental engineering, which is now part of the chemical engineering program.</p>
<p>I’ve also seen from various threads on CC about the chaos of the administration, and the lack of a dean (faculty, students, and alumni outted the previous dean) at WashU. Besides the changes to the departments, I haven’t seen anything “official” though. </p>
<p>I’d go with CMU just to avoid the problems that are going on at WashU right now.</p>
