WashU sends thank you notes to teachers???

Today, my former math teacher, who wrote me a recommendation, said that she received a letter of thanks from WashU for her recommendation.

Has anyone else heard of this? What kind of implication does this have for me, if any?

By the way, she said she had never received a letter of thanks before [neither has my dad, who is also a teacher and has written recommendations].

its funny that you bring this up because my teacher told me he got a thank you letter a couple of days ago. he said that he has never gotten one before. i dont think it has anything to do with us, but them just appreciating the efforts that the teachers take to get all of our stuff in on time.

hm… did it come through the mail? or email?

she didn’t specify

that is sooo random… has anyone else’s teacher gotten one?

Maybe it’s their way to show appreciation and encourage teachers to write letters. WUSTL only requires one letter (if I remember correctly), so if a teacher does not submit one on time, it hurts the students (assuming the letter would have been good ;-))

That’s a nice gesture of WashU’s part.

I applied for the Engineering Academic Fellowship and I asked my physics teacher to write me a recommendation.

He just got a thank you letter in the mail today. Crazy!
