I got into both, but is WashU engineering good enough to justify the cost over Rutgers?

do you have a free ride at rutgers? If not, how much do you have to pay for both?

about 14,000 at rutgers, 34000 at Washington

The cheaper one all the way. The only possible reason I’d ever take WashU over Rutgers is if you wanted to work in Washington (where you could more easily get your first job).

No offense to Rutgers, but I think you would have so much more opportunities at WashU…

If you’re going BioMed – which I think WashU is known for, then definitely go there. Then again, who knows? I’m from New Jersey and I think Rutgers is absolutely crappy.

Mr Payne washu is in st louis. i would go to wash u just seems to me as a better school.

Washington U doesnt have an absolutely amazing name to justify the 20,000 dollar price difference in my opinion. Rutgers engineering is pretty good… I’m gonna have to side with Rutgers on this one

My bad. I thought he was referring to UW.

If you have questions about the classes/research available at Rutgers, I can answer them. I am a student currently majoring in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry and Philosophy.

If you are in-state, go to Rutgers. While WashU has a great name, it does not have an exceptional reputation in engineering.

It will cost 50K/year versus 20-24K/year for WashU over Rutgers. Lotta dough, very little difference in terms of knowledge gained.

WashU is also home to many “I almost made it to Harvard…I almost made it to Princeton …etc” types.

thanks for the help everyone
