WashU vs. UPenn vs. Georgetown

Compare and contrast.

I’m geared towards IR/Languages but will most likely lean towards liberal arts to start with and figure it out once I’m there. All three are reach schools but very doable reach schools with my scores. Just wanting some imput on the overall social vibes of each school, their academic strengths, anything you have to say. Thanks!

Out of those three schools, I think that Georgetown is the best when it comes to IR/Languages.

other thoughts?

Staggeringly biased though I may be, I simply must say Penn ;)

I am doing a double major in IR and east Asian area studies right now, and it is fantastic. Like you, I came in just as liberal arts but with a latent interest in international things…I came wanting to be a PPE major.

Penn has a DC internship placement program, and while I’d be amazed if it was on par with Georgetown (what with it being in DC and all), it certainly puts it ahead of WashU.

As for languages, that has been a Penn strength for quite some time. Penn has always been strong at area studies in general.

I’d say it’s more of a question between Georgetown (presuming you’re talking about SFS) and Penn
