<p>Dr. Dale Rice, of the USC Keck School of Medicine, has received a gift of $250,000 from the Wasserman Foundation to support Rice and his team’s biofilm research. Dr. Rice holds the Leon Tiber and David Alpert Chair in Medicine at Keck. He is Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology.</p>
<p>The CDC estimates that more than 65% of infections in hospitals are caused by biofilm.</p>
