Feeling depressed… Been working on Stanford application for quite some time already… A Levels in 2 weeks time… don’t know if i’m wasting my time applying as my chances are not good…

Am a foreigner. studying in Singapore, which follows the British education system…

-2140 for SAT. know it’s very low… CR 680 Writing 680 Maths 780
-Straight A1s for O Levels though… But don’t think that counts very much
-Prelims was not good (no A at all) as i was really sick. Like non-stop coughing since the week before prelims… till now haven’t recover.
-quite confident for A levels. but applying for EA so nah. that doesn’t matter for Stanford anymore…
-Been in school choir… participated in 2 competition, both highest honour…
-has 110+ service hours for past 2 years…
-been in guitar ensemble and songcomposing group… just concerts though. no competitions. :S

scared for outright rejection for EA… will cry.

Dont worry about it man… no harm in trying! And the SG prelims are completely misleading! Just make sure your predicted grades are good and it should be ok…

You should have seen my O-level predicted grades! They were predicted to be mediocre (for some strange reason, although I did really well in class) and I ended up getting the second highest grades in my class on the exams. I just don’t get teachers sometimes.

haha yeah application process is certainly frustrating. i’m from SG too. i’m not applying for stanford though, my friend is. i do advise you to apply for other schools though, perhaps 5-6 for RD. admission process is kinda unpredictable and all. cheers and good luck for your revision and As.
