The music was fantastic but I could’ve done without the makeout session between Brittany and Santana. Call me a prude but I felt like it was totally uncalled for on a prime-time show with a young audience.

Yep, that’s when we switched channels for 5 min. If they really want to go there, should change to 9 pm after my 9 yr old goes to bed.

I liked the Steisand-Garland duet…

Brittany is definitely coming into her own. She makes me laugh the hardest now after Sue Sylvester. Sue where were you last night?

In terms of the wannabe Streisand…no, it’s already been done. Why is Rachael trying to be a Streisand impersonator? I think most people want to see fresh talent and stars in the making, not has-beens. Very disappointed. I don’t want to see Streisand episode after episode, and her continuing to do the lemon-wince thing.

I agree, especially since it had no connection to their storylines. It seemed odd.

Also, I don’t think the sex scene between Artie and Britney needed to be so obvious. I think those scenes should be handled more subtly as this is a family show.

I didn’t have a problem with the Brittnay/Santana ‘lady kisses’ thing, but then I knew it was coming. Pretty PG as far as I was concerned. At some point they will have a love interest for Curt so you might want to be ready for that.

I’m really loosing interest with anything Rachel related. Everything looks like she studied hours of footage of the person who sang it before…to copy it just the same. American Idol would have slammed her for doing copy-cats and never making anything her own. They would tell her to go to Broadway, where she’d be a huge success. Yes she would. Her talent is amazing! She just needs to find her talent, not copy the style of others. I used to thing the budding Diva bit was a funny part of Rachel. Now I realize that that is simply Lea Michele.

I’d be ok with kissing, straight or otherwise…but at 8:30 after rushing home from a soccer game for the 9 yr old, it’s just plain annoying to see a cheerleader straddling someone on a bed. Didn’t help that my ds and new gf were sitting there with me. Talk about AWKWARD. That’s why I have to hold the remote through that show to edit. Remember when Happy Days was on at 8pm?

She’s been ther and done that - now trying to break out.
"Michele began working professionally as a child actress on Broadway in productions such as Les Mis

we all thought the bedroom scene was awkward and out of place…and none of us in this house are under 17…

may have been easier to digest if there was a lead-up to a relationship or indications previously that they were attracted to each other; just so random…edit: both the girl-girl and the girl-guy actually

I don’t agree that a “Kurt” relationship will elicit the same reaction; many of us (well, in my house anyway) are pulling for him to find happiness…

I believe it has been part of the story-line that Santana and Brittany are bisexual and hook up with each other occasionally since the first season. The first indication was when they went on a date with Finn promising a threesome or something, and they ended up just with each other.

That’s fair. I knew via spoilers several weeks ago that the Brittnay/Santana scene was going to happen so any clues that may have been subtle I caught. It didn’t seem out of the blue to me at all.

I obviously don’t know Lea Michele’s background. I readily admit she is wildly talented. Her performances, in my opinion are cookie cutter, and feel she is a diva on screen and off. I don’t have a lot of respect for that. That’s simply my opinion. Other people obviously really love her character, performance, and feel she is gracious to cast members. We all have our own opinions. I’m not knocking anyone else’s. I’m just not a fan.

Could it be that the “copycat” performances by Rachael are intentional for the character? After all, she is wildly insecure, so it would make sense that the character simply copies performances from previous stars. In any case, I love her voice, though I still think the sound for all the performances is over-produced. I’d rather hear something closer to a natural sound from everyone. They have the voices to do that, IMO.

That last song was fantastic! Mr PMK and I applauded when it was over!

I liked the duets show last night and thought most of the music was fun. Like everyone keeps saying I think they need to work on Rachel’s character as most of us really don’t care for her any longer. D2 hates it whenever Lea Michele sings because of the faces she makes.

I do love those Brittany lines though!

I saw Lea Michele in Spring Awakening, and really enjoyed her performance, but it’s about the most opposite kind of role as there could be from Rachel.

As others have mentioned, Lea first appeared on Broadway at age 9. She’s already a huge success there. In actuality, if Lea appeared on AI, she would blow everyone else out of the water, including the judges. She has more talent in her little finger than 99% of the kids who have made it to the final ten.

The performances you’re seeing are those of Rachel, not Lea. She is playing a role and being directed. These kids don’t get to make the decisions on these aspects of the show. Knowing Lea for many years, I can assure you that she is not at all a diva off screen.

As for the ‘uncomfy-ness’ of some scenes, the show has had material from the very beginning that some may find objectionable. This is nothing new. If I had young children watching, there would be many issues that would trouble me more than a make-out session, e.g., the bullying that has been a constant since the very first show, to name just one. Let’s be honest here, was the kissing between Brittany and Santana, who have had a pseudo-relationship since the beginning, more objectionable than Brittany taking Artie’s virginity?

Did anyone else notice what an amazing, fierce, beautifully acted job Santana did on that Tina Turner duet? I couldn’t take my eyes off her. Replayed the performance, actually, to fully focus on her. I’ve always liked the Santana/Brittney characters, but Santana’s turn as Tina Turner took my admiration to a whole new level.

I loved the show last night!

If I had young kids, I do not think they would be watching Glee. At least not without a whole lot of discussion. Even then, I think some of the subtleties of the humor and the relationships and the campy manner in which they are presented would be lost on young kids. It’s NOT a show to be taken literally, IMO!

And may I also say, WOW, Alwaysamom! You know Lea Michelle personally? COOL!!! :)

I found them both unsettling, in part, because the same character was involved in both scenes. If I had a younger child, I’d be concerned about the portrayal of sex in such a casual manner.
