Watch "Glee"

Rachel continues to irritate me. It was strange to have a Sue-less episode.

Nah! “Mad Men” beats “Glee” by a mile and a half! ;)

Oh my gosh… this past weekend when D2 was home, she was shocked to find Florence and the Machine on my iPod; she even tweeted about it. And now they perform Dog Days on Glee. I guess they truly are mainstream now!

I thought that new addition was strange. Maybe they will explain more next week? Hopefully Kurt will be back soon.

The Warblers remind me of my Grandpa’s favorite show, Lawrence Welk.

The second song New Directions did at the competition was “Valerie” by The Zutons but made more popular by Amy Winehouse. I love that song and it’s a total crowd-pleaser, and I’m really glad they did it (with dancing!)

The tie was cheesy but necessary. Darren Criss has signed on for more episodes and Kurt still needs him as a mentor/love interest.

I have to say, I’m excited for the Christmas episode even though I hate Christmas songs because the song list looks really good. Also Kurt and Blayne are supposedly singing “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” and that is going to be so cute and squeal-worthy. It’s actually already on YouTube if you’d like a little early cheer :)

I gave my daughter the Glee Christmas CD this weekend while she was in town for an early Hannukah present! She is a dancer and it was always a traditional for me to give her a Christmas CD every year during Nutcracker. While she no longer is dancing and is a working woman, I have continued the gift. Plus, it is really a gift for me also as she has loaded it into my itunes also :-)

I thought the competition was for HS glee clubs, so I didn’t get why the senior citizen group was there. Dd miss something? Not that I expect Glee to be realistic anyway.

I thought last night’s episode was a little boring plot-wise. Loved Brittany and Mike’s dancing.

The oldies were GED students in an alternative high school.

“am bad ass ador” thought Puck was interesting last night

And the Emma-Dentist marriage? Seems like they burned the Emma-Will bridge too soon. The thing is, they need a way to have Will sing and dance. We all seem to think it’s creepy when he performs with the kids, so it would have been nice to have some Will-Emma love songs/Will singing to Emma songs. He needs to find a new girlfriend.

teriwtt - D2 has been listening to Florence and the Machine forever and always mentions that she loved her music way before she was mainstream. I have to keep reminding D2 that the indie bands she loves so much cannot survive forever without a hit!

showmom - I did a wikipedia search on Florence and found it interesting that her mom is a department head and dean at University of London, Queen Mary, which is where D2 was studying abroad this time last year. I wonder if she knew this when she was there.

hey need a way to have Will sing and dance

At my daughters school, while a silent auction was going on in the hallway- we had another fundraiser in the black box theatre. You could bid on a teacher to sing karaoke & if you won, you could also choose an outfit from the costume closet to dress them up in.

It was a blast- I think they should have a teacher talent show.
So many schools have such tight budgets that fundraising is something that goes on year long.
Paying a little more attention to that could make Glee seem more relevant.
( that and updating the music a couple decades)

The new addition, obese girl who took Kurt’s place? makes sense to me. The show it seems is trying to snag every minority group, why not kids at school who are obese?

I thought Quinn and her new beau again were priceless in the Dirty Dancing number. Others must think they have chemistry too as they continue to be in the spotlight.

It was hard seeing Kurt in that Warblers number, like a fish out of water. All to say that they are setting us up for a return to his old group. Probably why there was a tie, so that when Kurt returns to New Directions, some tension will remain with his boyfriend part of the competition.

Emma and Will? same thing. There was too much anxiety on her part, too much raising of her eyebrows for us not to know that the writers are setting us up for something, it’s always darkest before dawn thing where it seems hopeless now, but eventually if we root hard enough, the two will eventually be brought back together again.

Rachel? I think it’s getting hard to watch her facial expressions…they should just return to her singing some contemporary fun songs again in front of the mirror with a hairbrush, back to the good old days when we all couldn’t believe how good she was!

I’ve been thinking about this Rachel thing. Last season she was just as annoying and diva-like, so why do I not like her as much this season? I think it is because they sexed her up this year. She looks thinner and prettier. Her attitude (which I realize is integral to her character) is much more difficult to swallow. Am I off base about this???

^^Ihave no idea if that is the reason she is sooo irritating this year but it’s really getting on my nerves actually…Last year, I actually thought it would be great to see her on Broadway; this year, you couldn’t sell me a ticket…

I also don’t know why Rachel is so annoying to me this year, but I could do without her. I have never liked watching her sing and I hate the way her mouth is always so wide open and her facial expressions. While she has a great voice, I just don’t like looking at her!!

I think Kurt will go back to New Directions and while I realize the show is not realistic, how is it Kurt and Finn haven’t spoken since their parents married? I know my kids can go a few days without speaking, but it was not believable that the boys haven’t spoken at all.

Not sure why Rachel is so problematic this year. I thought it was because she was a Streisand wannabe, and I don’t want to hear that.

I think it does have something to do with too many close-ups.

The last musical number at the end of Special Education had Tina and Mercedes singing a song. My daughter really liked the dress that Tina was wearing - it was dark purple. Does anyone know of any store that carry that type of clothing? I thought I could get her something more cool than anything else I could pick out for her.

Thanks.

That kind of clothing isn’t exactly a mall-chain staple. (Or maybe it is – it’s not like I spend any time in mall chains for teenage girls, and when I had a teenage girl she didn’t dress like that at all.) Try googling “goth” or “steampunk” dresses and your community.
