<p>For the first time I can remember in years, everyone in my family was watching together last night (usually kids watch later on TIVO; laptops etc) and my younger D’s boyfriend joined us…</p>

<p>Just a little Glee news. Yesterday my D (college freshman in NYC) was having breakfast with a friend at a cafe and Jonathon Groff (aka Jesse St James) was eating there too!</p>
<p>It really was outstanding…another crier here. I love it when TV makes you think. Down Syndrome is humanized, and that is so good for all of us. I feel educated…</p>

<p>The plotline with Sue, her sister, and the funeral was very moving in so many ways.</p>
<p>Rachel’s rendition of My Man was simply riveting. Wow. She knocked my socks off. The little “vision” of Finn was a great touch. Jesse’s machinations aside, she really is a towering talent and the best of the bunch. Although Mercedes’ rendition of Try a Little Tenderness was good, she unsurprisingly fell short of Otis Redding in the crucial “shouting” section where it is supposed to build to a climax…it was disappointing. Those are big shoes to try to fill. (This is a song that I like so much that it is the ringtone on my cellphone!)</p>
<p>I also thought the conversation between Finn and Quinn in which he breaks up with her broke through some barrier for the show. </p>
<p>By the way, I think Lea Michele is lovely and it never crossed my mind that she had a supposedly “big” nose until the episode in question.</p>
<p>The “My Man” rendition reminded me again of why they need to bring “Funny Girl” back to Broadway…between Lea Michele and Idina Menzel it would be amazing…</p>
<p>Have heard this is in the works but it’s been VERY quiet lately…</p>

<p>No, Menzel is too old - forgive me - and Lea Michelle is just not right in so many ways.</p>
<p>D’s whole tap class at NYU delayed their class for over 2 hours to watch Glee taping by Washington Square Park. It was the professor’s suggestion and the class unanimously voted to stay late.</p>

<p>rest of the show was “eh” after the last few weeks of excellent episodes…IMO</p>
<p>The episode was good considering they had to fit in a New York montage + competition + relationship drama for it to be the finale. Really didn’t like any of the performances except the first New York mashup and For Good. Liked that they didn’t win, though; it would have been unrealistic and it sets them up nicely to win it all their last year together.</p>
<p>(Also - Blaine saying “I love you” was pretty adorable and perfect)</p>
<p>Not my favorite but I did like the bits- New York montage, the coffee shop scene, the date with Rachel and Finn…predictable they didn’t win since it was late in the show and they need to come back next year!</p>
