What was up with Sam & Mercedes at the coffee shop? I was distracted…were they on a “date”?

They were on a date. They started holding hands once they were out of Kurt and Blaine’s sight.

I haven’t heard anything about Lea Michele and a Wicked movie.

Glee was starting at the same time as the tornadoes and hail. We saw about 2 minutes of it and the rest was the weather guys. 15 minutes as it was happening and about 90 minutes of talking about it afterwards.

okay, I KNOW that this show is not realistic but it struck me last night that one thing I wish is that could have hired actors closer to the supposed age of the real characters. When Will talked about his kids growing up and maturing it made me realize that none of the characters had really done that. They never were those awkward freshman of varying sizes that we know in real life that tend to grow up physically and (sometimes) maturity-wise by the time they are seniors.

You know how when you see a classmate of your kids for the first time after several years and they just look so different? The glee cast, because they were already grown up when they started, had no growing to do. I think it’s neat when you watch the Harry Potter movies that you can see actual physical and maturity growth in the characters from one year to the next.

I thought last night’s show was just okay.

Kathiep, I agree with your point about the actors’ ages with one exception: Chris Colfer has grown majorly. If you search on youtube, there’s a video of him dancing to Single Ladies on this year’s tour, and it’s like night and day from when he did it when the show started, both in his body and his confidence and dancing skills. He was 18 when the show started, though, and everyone else is older, and just trying to keep looking somewhat high school-ish. I think the actors playing Finn and Puck are both 28.

I liked parts of last night’s episode, but overall, I think I far preferred any of the last few episodes. It was so built-up (supposedly they spent 6 million dollars filming in New York) and it didn’t seem to quite measure up. Maybe it would have worked better if it were longer, so things didn’t seem so rushed.

I absolutely loved For Good, though. That blew the original songs out of the water in my opinion.

I LoVeD the song, For Good!!! The words are amazing! I printed them out. I really liked the ending also I like how Rachel is finally growing up also. She’s learning to share the spotlight!

I’m confused. If New Directions won regionals, then why was Vocal Adrenaline there? Also, we thought it was weird that Rachel thought she couldn’t be with Finn when they have all of senior year. It’s high school, not marriage.

I think there was a “tie” at regionals so they both got to go to Nationals…

I’m assuming Vocal Adrenaline ended up in a different region this year…

And I agree, mimko, I did not get Rachel’s logic at all. She was agonizing over this choice that did not have to be a choice. She could not get into school in New York, or Finn could, or they could organically break up, or they could make this choice in a year. It was a lot of drama for kind of a non-problem.

I was distracted by Brittany’s hair changing while she was talking to Santana towards the end of the show. Her bangs were up, down, up, down.

^^^ lol - that’s Brittany for ya ;)

I think Brittany’s cup song was pretty good…she’s hilarious

A rerun, but what a great rerun it was!!! I liked this even better the second time.

WWEELLL…any comments about last nights show? I missed Sam and it was neat to see one of the Glee Project participants so soon. Its gonna be interesting to see how they work the two winners into this season. Was underwhelmed with Kurt and Racheals number but loved the closing number from Hairspray.

I only caught the last half or less, but I enjoyed the Hairspray number also. It was weired to see Blaine out of uniform.

But out of uniform, I could see just how well Blaine could move! He had some serious hip swivel going on…

Same as last year: great Bollywood production numbers, less-and-less compelling scripts around them.

I did smile at some of the stereotypical college references–the writers appear to have done their homework with respect to the college hunt:

like when Asian character Mike said: “my mom hasn’t decided if I’m going to Harvard or Stanford yet…”

and when Finn thought that everyone but him knew what they wanted to do with their lives…

and when Rachel and Curt met with guidance counselor Emma, indicating they were only applying to Julliard (in their minds the ultimate), and didn’t like her suggestion of a local school–until she pointed out that Julliard didn’t have MT. Also, when they got a dose of reality watching the other group perform the Anything Goes number…

Overall, I’d give it a B. Liked the addition of Blaine; and the Will/Emma romance; but still find the tirades of Sue to be obnoxious.

I watched with my younger D, who is a rabid fan…

I thought it all seemed a bit too slick and over-produced. Seems to be getting away from the quirky charm of the earlier seasons. Am happy for the addition of Blaine, though the audtion/addition of “Sugar” was irritating, though she will probably be back in new and improved form in later shows. Mention was made above of a Glee cast member search – was she the winner?

The actress who played “sugar” is actually quite older and used to be on American Dreams. If I have time later, I will research and post her name.

As empty nesters who always watched Glee with our daughter, I think we may be coming to the end of our run with this show. Last night was not great. Ok, just not great
