I really enjoyed it, although I found myself much more interested in McKinley than New York and Rachel. I think now that Kurt’s in New York, I’ll have some more interest there, but I didn’t expect to be so interested int he characters that were left at McKinley and the new characters, so good for them. I liked Marley and I thought “Call Me Maybe” was fun, although I can’t stand the song. And I loved the contrast of Kurt going to New York with his eyes open and the support of his boyfriend and his father, vs Rachel, who had her dads and boyfriend decide behind her back to pack her up and send her off. Love the Kurt and Burt scenes.

In terms of the Glee Project people, I’m glad to see Alex back. He was actually the only character from the show I found compelling last season. (Lindsay Pearce was second). Honestly, I think Damian seems sweet, but to me he seemed to suck all of the energy out of the room every time he had a scene. He’s a great singer, and it sounds like he’s focusing on music and is happy to be doing that back in Ireland. Alex also just graduated from high school a few months ago so he’s pretty raw – he might be in a position for us to see a lot of improvement.

I broke down and signed up for Hulu Plus so that I don’t have to wait almost 2 weeks to see Glee. Really enjoyed the first episode. Like the new girl. Adore Alex. He is a total pro who easily holds his own. I love Burt Hummel.

I also watched the finale of The Glee Project, and was ecstatic that they made the choice they did, although all three of the finalists could easily have been used on the show.

The old pianist is named Brad Ellis and is a pianist who worked ont he show’s production – if you watch the audition video clips of the actors, he’s playing the piano in them – and what I heard is that Ryan Murphy basically said to him “by the way, you’re on the show too.” So he’s a musician and not an actor.

In a whup-upside-the-head moment, I blush to admit that I JUST realized why Sue calls Kurt “Porcelain.” Here I was thinking that it was just because of his complexion!.

Clue me in, I have no idea why she calls him that. I really like the ny scenes, just curious about the graduated seniors we didn’t see -quinn, Finn, Santana, Mercedes, puck…are they off the show now?

Consolation, that’s where the character got his name. Chris Colfer has rosy Hummel-figurine cheeks and reminded Ryan Murphy of a Sound of Music character (which Ryan mentioned to him and he said that he had played Kurt in a community theater production when he was little) – thus Kurt Hummel.

[Chris Colfer on Being Cast for “Glee” (Biography Channel Special) - YouTube](<a href=“- YouTube”>- YouTube)

That clip doesn’t actually mention Hummel figurines but it’s a great look at his story.

I think we’ll see all of the old characters at some point (Thanksgiving?) and most of them are even still credited as regulars.

ETA: I always assumed Sue’s nickname was a comment on his pale skin, but I wouldn’t be surprised at all if she intended several meanings.

In the episode “Furt” Kurt tells Sue that calling him ‘Lady’ is a form of bullying. She agrees and gives him three alternate nicknames to choose from: ‘Gelfling’, ‘Porcelain’ or ‘Tickle-Me Dough Face’." He chooses Porcelain.

I’ve always taken it to mean ‘easily broken’, or fragile. I never made a connection to Hummel.

Well, at least Kurt lives in the same tiny luggage world. He left home with only a very small over the shoulder duffel.

Here is what drives me crazy…yes, I know it’s not the real world. But it’s a world in which both Kurt and Rachel are very high maintenance…lots of skin care products, lots of clothes…if the writers knew their characters, wouldn’t both have left with way *too much *luggage?

I finally watched the new episode last night. I remember in the past the glee club needing to recruit new members, because they had to have a certain number to compete. But now they’ve lost Rachel, Kurt, Finn, Santana, Mercedes, Quinn, Mike and Puck (and the Irish guy?) and initially they only just let in one new girl?

I wish they would have not followed Rachel to NYC. I am very sick of her.

And fake MT school…was that supposed to be the entire student body in the round room? What would that be - 6 students per class? And with all the nationwide competition, Dean Whoopi chose a classical singer who sang Ave Maria badly and needed to practice all summer?

I think I need to leave the world of Glee …maybe just fast forward to interesting musical numbers on the DVR.

Missypie, they let in a whole list of kids–probably about 8. But Puck’s brother ripped it off the wall after only Marley and he had seen it, so the other kids didn’t show up.

I continue to love Rachel. Actually, the only Glee kid I really, really did not like was Quinn, with Puck running second.

Okay, someone who still has it on their DVR needs to stop the motion and read the list…because I saw the list of 8 and thought I saw the names of the exisiting members (Artie, et al) and only the one new member. And I don’t remember a bunch of new faces in the scene where the lunch lady’s D had the solo and they all wore black.

They didn’t accept Jesse St. James either, who’s probably the best male vocalist we’ve seen on the show. Knowing that and seeing Ave Maria girl (and hearing Brody sing) has actually made me less furious about Rachel and Kurt’s admissions results, since it’s very clear that NYADA is not actually admitting the best of the best. Carmen admitted Ave Maria girl and told her that she needed to work all summer – they may be admitting people who they know they can fit into their mold and improve into a certain direction. Or they might just be on crack.

And count me as another who is very sick of Rachel. Seriously, I’m hoping that Lea Michele gets some amazing offer that she can’t turn down because I would enjoy this show so much more without her.

Question: Before he left for NYC, with Kurt’s dad in Washington, was Kurt just living with Finn’s mom?

Here is another, actually sincere, question: At your kid’s HS, could a boy cross dress to the extent that Unique does? Yes, D knows a guy at school who wears blouses and skinny jeans and nail polish, maybe a touch of eye liner…but never a dress or skirt. For a school that never had an out gay until Kurt came out a couple of years ago, that school has become very progressive very quickly.

(I just read our HS dress code. Not specifically prohibited, but there is an “inappropriate” catch all.)

They haven’t made it very clear if Unique is trans or wearing drag, but the first episode she appeared in indicated that she was trans. I think she made a comment to Kurt “that’s because you identify as a man” when Kurt said that although he’d worn out there outfits, he’d worn a dress on stage.

Either way, I’m sure she’ll get bullied, but I’m not sure a high school could get away with telling a trans woman that she can’t wear a dress to school and it’s considered inappropriate – although I’m sure high schools have done that.

We had a boy in our high school who cross dressed about half the time ( dresses/skirts, heels etc) . He was a very tall kid to begin with - over 6 feet tall. in his heels he was towering! He transferred to night school in his senior year…not sure why but I don’t believe he was bullied, Ithink it was because he was also going to cosmetology school.

Alex ( aka Unique) is a friend of my son’s… I knew he was a star from the moment I met him and I was very surprised that he didn’t win the top prize on The Glee Project.
