Watcha Doing This Weekend? Oct 10-12

DEN had some issues this week. Sometimes it’s weather, but I think this was shut down related. I picked my daughter up last Friday night and notice many of the parking lots were full (which means a lot of people traveling thru the airport over the weekend).

Weather is supposed to be gorgeous this weekend - high 70s.

I work on Saturdays so my weekends are Sun/Mon. I was out of town the last two weekends, with MIL/SIL here visiting for the week in between. I got home at midnight Monday from my last trip, and had to be at work yesterday morning so I started this week quite tired!

Dh and I are planning to go out for a “date night” dinner after I get home Saturday night. I have zero plans for my weekend other than some relaxation and catch up on chores/cleaning. If I can motivate myself, I’ll get out the little bit of fall/Halloween decor I have. I hoped to have it out before MIL/SIL arrived but ran out of time and now not sure I want to bother. As an introvert and somewhat homebody, I’m looking forward to being home with no real plans!

Hopefully, HOPEFULLY :crossed_fingers: watching Kilauea erupt. We are house sitting for a friend on the Big Island for 6 weeks (well me, DH only signed up for 3 weeks). So far the 34 episodes in the current eruption have been roughly a week apart, so by this weekend it’ll be time again. Last weekend we woke up at 5, saw on the live cam that it had begun fountaining over night, jumped in the car and raced up there. From the driveway to the parking lot, we could see the top of the fountain over the trees. Parked, walked out to the viewing point and in that 3 minute timeframe the episode had completely ended, so it was a bust for us.

We are lucky enough to have spent several weeks here every year for the last 10 years and have been to the national park several times but have not seen an active eruption yet, so fingers crossed.

Other than that, fighting back the jungle for our friend, and sitting in the beach.

Heading out on Saturday morning for the next stop on our trip - Beaune in Burgundy. It’s a nice 3-ish drive down there and the weather looks wonderful. We finally made reservations for dinners, two at places we were at last year and loved. :crossed_fingers:t2: they’re still good.

We successfully made the transition from coffee and cake in the afternoon to coffee and pastry/croissants in the morning, and bread, wine, and cheese in the afternoons. Life is good.

We are celebrating D1’s birthday here at our house. Our granddaughter was born on 10/06 so this will be her first outing besides the pediatrician today. D1 has asked for a charcuterie since cheese was bothering her when she was pregnant and she has missed it.
