I loved last weekend’s thread, so I hope I can start the one for this weekend. I might update later in the week. I’m very excited that D24 is coming home (from 2 hours away). We plan to “put up Halloween” in the yard. I bet she’ll watch rather than helping. 
We also will go to a thrift store and go out to dinner. I love hanging out with her! I bet we’ll buy her some groceries, too.

SIL is going out of town this weekend so I am staying at D and SIL’s house to help her with the kids (3 yo and 2 month old). We will probably go on walks, watch a (new to her) movie with GD, and we are going to a neighborhood ice cream social. So not exciting, but it will be fun.

Having lunch here in Maine with an old CC friend from our prep forum days who is renting a cottage on a nearby lake. We’ll catch up with what our now-married adult kids are doing and enjoy the double chocolate walnut-pecan brownies I’m bringing to have after our lunch. Probably just soaking in the sights and smells of fall the rest of the weekend as we begin to shut down the cabin in advance of saying goodbye to our wonderful season in the woods.

Weather permitting, driving the 850 miles south to our beach house! We spent the last two weekend babysitting for multiple grandkids so I feel like we’ve earned this one.

We are picking up our son and driving to our cabin. On the way, we will stop at a Home Depot to rent a bush hog. The trees are growing so fast that they will start blocking the view of the lake. So we will trim a bunch of them back. It’s a hopeless cause, but we’ll at least make a dent. We can have the land logged in four years. It’s probably past peak foliage up there, but it will still be pretty.

I have a dinner with few girlfriends on Friday night, otherwise, nothing, nothing. It’s a nice break after a weekend of getting my mom to an emergency room to get a pacemaker implanted and a hectic weekend of GD2’s first birthday. I am going to enjoy binge watching some tv series, some wine, and no stress. It’s the last weekend before I start packing and getting ready for my Japanese trip.

I’m heading to Columbus Thursday for a work event Friday and both my daughters live there. Will stay with the married one in their new old house - I’m the first overnight guest! Dinner out with them and D2/Boyfriend Thursday night and then son in laws family - who I love - is coming over Friday night for dinner. I’ll come home Saturday and hopefully will find time somewhere in there to visit this great upscale clothing consignment store and a trip to Trader Joe’s which we don’t have here.
H will stay home with the dog and will be happy to eat whatever he wants whenever he wants!

Saturday is husbands birthday. I made a reservation at a local restaurant with a 5 course meal. Hopefully all the courses are fab!
Sunday I am working 8 hours at urgent care.

Sunday we’ll have the whole gang here. Three sons and DIL’s and four grandchildren. One DIL is 2 weeks from her due date. We’ll get Italian food/pizza from everyone’s favorite growing up pizza parlor.

I work at a fabric store and we are having a get together/dinner/sewathon after the store closes on Saturday. About a dozen employees. As a group we all have quilting/sewing in common so like to celebrate that every now and then. We’ll bring in food and sew in the classroom.

Quiet weekend here too. Since I’m busy every day between now and the weekend, I think I’ll just relax and get things ready for the visit from DS next week.

Saturday we are meeting up with a couple we’ve become friendly with recently for a bike ride that will end at a local brewery.
Sunday will be continued yard work (cleaning out the summer garden beds), weather permitting.

Leaving tomorrow (Thurs) for Colorado to spend time with S23 the weekend before Parents Weekend to avoid the crowds. Not sure how flying BOS/DEN will go with the shutdown. Once there we will tailgate, see a football game, visit with GF’s parents, see him in his element and probably view some wildlife.
