watching tv shows on tablets

I received a nexus tablet for my birthday. I plan to take over part of DS1’s room for my hobby and plan to use the tablet for tv while I “work”. What are your recommendations for TV viewing over the internet? Older shows are OK, free is important. I don’t want movies, just hour long shows.

Thanks in advance!

Do you have cable, and do you subscribe to HBO? If so, you can get the HBO Go app and watch all the episodes of The Wire, The Sopranos, Treme, etc.

I use the Hulu, Netflix & Amazon video apps.
However, those services have minimal fees,if you have amazon Prime, there are many shows available with that membership.
YouTube also has an app and oftentimes you can find full length shows or movies there.

If you are looking for free TV, there’s the CW Network and tv.com which has many CBS shows. I’ve always found the tv.com format (ads and display format) to be horrible.

There’s also Crackle which has movies and TV shows.

ABC, CBS and NBC have apps on Apple’s ecosystem. If I want to watch one of their shows, I use my iPhone.

If you have the Nexus 7 tablet, you might find the dock accessory useful:

https://play.google.com/store/devices/details/Nexus_7_Dock?id=nexus_7_dock&hl=en

PBS. You could get hooked on a series. Educational stuff, too, including TED talks. Have fun!

So long as you aren’t trying to watch live (may be possible I just don’t know how) there are plenty of shows available through the networks, Amazon and netflicks. I rarely watch anything live on a tv anymore. Probably not considered “free” but I have become hooked on many tv series watching them on Amazon Prime.
