Watergate, Deep Throat and GW !

Interesting footnote to this story. In Bob Woodward’s article today about Deep Throat, he told the story of how he and Mark Felt first met. Woodward was sitting in a White House waiting room, along with Felt, whom he did not yet know. Woodward was in a quasi gap year, and drifting abit. “To quell my angst and sense of drift, I was taking graduate courses at George Washington University. One course was in Shakespeare and another in international relations.”

He was having some trouble getting Felt to speak to him, but kept at it. “When I mentioned the graduate work to Felt, he perked up immediately, saying he had gone to night law school at GW in the 1930’s before joining - and this is the first time he mentioned it - the FBI.” Then, like any good GW student, Felt had interned with a member of Congress. “So we had two connections - graduate work at GW and work with elected representatives from our home states.”

Considering that GW owns the hotel from which the Watergate burglars’ lookout was posted, and now this, Watergate is a GW story !

OMG I am so glad I chose GW.

Me too. Could you supply a link to that article?

um, actually, no. . . . . . I read it by (let me explain how this is done) holding large, thin portfolios of paper in my hands. It’s called a “newspaper”. (smiley face of some kind !)

Seriously, I didn’t see it online. Try to google the Washington Post.

Okay-I found it. I just assumed that you cut and pasted it from the internet.
