I’ve tried 3 brands of tubing mascara and none of them had a white, gluey coat that was applied first. I did try a 4th brand that was selected by an Ulta salesperson that didn’t turn out to be tubing at all even though she said it was. Tubing mascara will come off with just warm water and it looks like a lot of black fibers in your hand or on your washcloth. It will never leave a black stain on the washcloth.
I never use a lash curler and I do use it on both my upper and lower lashes.
I used the Clinique Lash Power today. It did not smudge at all. I don’t have long, thick lashes and it didn’t make them appear so. It just colored what I have, which is good. I love the small brush applicator and think I will do better tomorrow, maybe apply a thicker coat. When I took it off tonight, I forgot what it was and used my usual baby oil rubbed on with a finger and wiped off with a tissue. It came off very easily.
I always curl my lashes before mascara and I apply to upper and lower lashes. My lashes are almost invisible without it.
So… I tried the tubing mascara - two thumbs up! I bought the Clinique but will likely try some less expensive options. The durability of waterproof mascara without the clumping and the difficult removal!
Now, if I could only find an eyeliner that stays in place! I’m in my 50s and still have incredibly oily skin. I use a primer and set with loose powder, and use blotting tissues and more loose powder during the day, but I still have to fix my eyeliner a couple times a day. No matter what brand I’ve bought, it always migrates away from my eyes…
I found out about the tubing mascara on the boards! I’ve been using it for months now, and just love it. I think it looks so natural and my lashes are wonderful. I curl my lashes before. However, in the evening if I’m going out and have it on, I’ll give it a squeeze and then they really pop up! I use L’Oréal, it’s $10 at Kroger.
@InigoMontoya -I have been very happy with the Marc Jacobs Highliner on my oily lids. Much better than any other I have tried.
