Wat's considered chubby?

So i’m just wondering…what does society consider chubby?
Also being pretty sure that i have gained the freshman 15, how do i lose it asap? I’m not a fan of junk food, but do a wekness for sweets.

Most people lose weight by exercising.

Not exactly true. Most people should lose weight by exercising is more accurate.

And diet-wise, losing weight is about sacrifice. You not consuming junk foods but overeating chocolate mousses and eclairs is no better. Check the nutritional value. Junk is junk to the system.

It’s hard to give a description of “chubby” to be honest. And in all reality, I know a number of girls, and guys for that matter, who if they gained the Freshman 15 they’d probably be healthier. Just food for thought.

what is your height/weight?(these arent the only factors, but it will help answer your question)

5’4’'/ 125ish

125 seems to be considered an acceptable weight if you are 5’8" but I don’t think it is at 5’4". 110-115 for your height range is healthier.

There are a lot, lot more girls that would be better off losing 15 pounds than girls that would be better off gaining 15 pounds.

Chubby depends on what kind of guys you want to hook. If you want to nab losers who have little selection, 300 pounds wouldn’t be chubby. If you want to hook a good guy (charming, intelligent, athletic, etc.) who have a wide-range of girls to choose from, you’ve got a pretty strict definition of chubby. Think about girls who make their living based off their looks, like pro. cheerleaders, strippers, etc. A top-notch guy will probably be looking for a physique like that.

There is nothing unacceptable about her height/weight ratio.

I tend to disagree. It’s just as dangerous to be 20-30 pounds underweight as it is to be overweight.

i don;t have a problem hooking guys…my concern is personal health and body condition

I’ve got a nifty little formula that’ll cover most girls.

Where y = “Ideal”* Weight, x your height in inches

y ± 4 = 5(x - 60) + 102.5

The ± 4 allows for variations in body structure and titties.

*To look like porn stars, strippers, cheerleaders–most guys would point to those professions like those for the ideal female body.

banana-- I didn’t mean to imply that you did–but looking the best you can will give you the greatest ability to select quality guys.

According to the National Eating Disorders Association, the avg. American woman is 5’4" and 140 pounds. An acceptable health range for that height is between 110-140 pounds, with 116 pounds being the ‘ideal’ weight.

bannana girl… if that’s your main focus, you should be more concerned with your cardio fitness than your bodyfat %. You can be a bit chubby and be healthy. You can be thin and be very unhealthy.

It’s pretty hard to give a measure in weight for what chubby is, though. Weight differs from body composition, height, and whatnot. Anything in the low to mid 20s in body fat % would probably be chubby territory for a woman. Anything over that would be in fat territory. I usually just go by appearance, though. I don’t know that much about what certain body fat percents look like on women. Kind of just guessed from stats.

I think that your height/weight is fine, depending on your body frame.

To me, chubby means that you have fat hanging over your pants or those bra lines on your back.

interesting formula easy…according to it i should be between 118.5 and 126.5
how did you come up with that lol

There’s no formula that you can follow. Weight is largely influenced by bone, muscle, and water mass, so there’s no point using it to measure something like this. I mean, if someone’s obviously underweight or overweight, then it has some credibility. But not in cases like this.

The best judge is probably by pictures or body fat %. I could post some pictures of women that I consider extremely fit, thin, cubby, and fat, though.

ok russel, post pictures.
i find this topic very interesting

bannana–I thought about girl friends and ex’s who had nice bodies, and then see if I remembered what they told me how much they weigh.

I extrapolated using 5’0 100, 5’0 105, 5’1" 105, 5’6 130, 5’5" 130.

You either look fat or you don’t… its not that hard to tell. There’s no weight, i know girls who don’t look very big but weigh a ton, and girls who look huge but don’t weigh much. If you have flab that hangs over your pants then its chubby.
