HI right now I am a senior and I am planning on going to U of I in the next 2 years. I will have to transfer because my grades are below average(2.3). For those who dont know what “fast track is”, it is a accelerated program in which you can complete 2 years of college in one, hense earning your Associate degree. My question is if I do this and get accepted will I enroll as a junior or softmore because I would rather go in as a softmore so i can experience as much of U of I as possible. When I apply for the fall term I will have around 30 hours of credit by the time of my 2nd semester. If I apply with this, is there an option where you can update your college transcript so that is shows that you have 60 hours completed? If I apply like this do you think I will get accepted in college of business. Please be honest

Generally, it does not take transfers unless you will have junior standing at time of transfer. (Moreover, there is no choice between being a sophomore or junior; if you have 60 hours, you are a junior, if 30 to 59, you are a sophomore.) The issue you will face is that when they get the application you will only have 30 hours completed as compared to the usual 45 or so for other transfer applicants, although you should be able to show you are registerd for at least 30 more before attending. How that will affect you for transfer, I do not know since yours is a rare case.

so your pretty much saying that getting accepted will be a long for me?

*long shot

Ask the counselors at the junior high you will attend what the placement rate is for grads of the fast track program. They should be able to tell you just how many students were admitted to UIUC.

Don’t worry about what year you’ll be when you enter. I know many students who entered with enough AP credit to be sophomores, but attended for 4 full years so that they could complete a minor or a specific sequence also. You could even choose to pursue a Master’s for the additional year.
