<p>The stanford website says that they will be sending decisions in waves after three, how do you think they will send it? Alphabetically, based on the decision, or based on reception of application? </p>
<p>I’m just wondering when i should check, if its alphabetical i should be in the first wave but i’m not so sure about the other two</p>

<p>The options that would make most sense are sending emails alphabetically, by your Common App number, or by the date that your application file at Stanford was created. These would probably be the easiest ways to send them out based on the way data usually gets stored in an electronic database. I’d assume that all decisions will get emailed within two hours because an application can send one email out really, really quickly.</p>
<p>Let’s just hope Stanford doesn’t have a UNC-like incident where we all get e-mails saying we got accepted.</p>

<p>ya the brown decision thread is what worried me, if i dont get an email by like six thirty i’ll probably be freaking out. Why cant they email over the period of twenty minutes they should have large servers and enough bandwidth</p>

<p>I’m seriously unimpressed by this email plan - they only got 4000 early apps. Any pint-sized company mailer can send out 4000 emails in a couple of minutes with no trouble. Can’t imagine why it should take ‘hours’ to get a lousy 4000 emails out, from the university at the heart of silicon valley… :(</p>
