Waves of Decision Email

Ailey - I vote you as MVC on this forum (Most valuable coach) and alohasam as MVP

BTW - Congrats to you DD!!

why thank you!

aloha - been quiet - take it easy - it’s TGIF!!

The thing starting to concern me is that it seems that everyone who’s heard already was either accepted/deferred. I haven’t heard any outright rejects yet, or maybe I missed them?

I’m overthinking this!

I think i have to put this in the application for other RDs

haha, just got the Rice email…

You might be thinking right Polka. I’m worried as heck. :/

I have a hard time believing so many of us could have been rejected.

I got a Rice email too haha…

why haven’t we heard yet?

 1. as someone said, “Maybe they are making last minute acceptance decisions.”
 2. people at a school in the middle of silicon valley, at a school supposed to have one of the best computer science departments, are technologically challenged (don’t know how to send emails and/or are typing all the decision emails one by one because they don’t know how to copy stuff)
 3. they are just too lazy to click

me too, Steve!

Also…just got that Rice e-mail someone mentioned a while back. That hurt.

The rice-email gave me a near-heart attack. :/

maybe it’s Rice’s way of trying to snag Stanford applicants… :)

Jenkster! Essay buddy! GOOOD LUCK MAN!!!

I remember you too! And thanks! Good luck to you too!

I just got an e-mail too, but instead of being from Rice it was from the Spice Girls hahahaha. Please don’t ask me why the Spice Girls are sending me e-mails.

As I mentioned earlier, I am fascinated by the psychological aspect of this waiting game. As a parent, I am reminded of what it’s like when you have put an offer in for a house. The longer you have to wait for the response, the longer you have to “talk yourself out of” the particular house (presumably to avoid the disappointment if the counteroffer is too high, or if someone else wins the “bidding war” – in days’ past).

My son is busy getting ready for his Varsity soccer game, so he’s disappointed he hasn’t heard, but he’s moved on to his next event.

As the parent, I am still here at the computer wondering why the heck a cutting edge, technologically powerful university like Stanford can’t send an admission decision in 2 1/2 hours!

I’m starting to think: GO Bears!!!

Have they outsourced the notification process? This is Silicon Valley after all.:)

If you call the admissions office, they say that the e-mails should have been sent within 30 minutes and that the offices are closed… but it seems as if no one has got their decision… I checked my spam filter nothing there wat is going on!
