My team doesn’t get enough credit. They play as a team with strong fundamentals. Gregg Popovich is a genius. No scandals, not covered in tats, no primadonnas. Boring to some, beautiful to me. Can’t wait to see how Kawhi develops.

Good job to the Spurs.

GoHeat

Love seeing basketball played the way it should be. Coach Pop said he is a Division 3 coach at heart. The only championship trophy in his office is the SCIAC Championship he won in 1986.

The way they played in games 3 and 4 was truly great pure, team basketball, which you don’t see much anymore. They got off to a rough start last night, but Popovich got them back on track pretty quickly. Classy team with quality people and a great bench. Can’t win all the time with just a few superstars and not enough supporting cast. Congratulations Spurs!

And Kawhi Leonard definitely deserved the MVP!

I didn’t know a lot about Kawhi until this year. Was originally drafted by the Pacers – ouch!. And his dad was shot as his Compton car wash when Kawhi was 16, so the kid has had hardship.

I think it’s interesting how international the team is. I’d like to hear more about how they find and develop talent. They don’t take a lot of US college superstars, it seems. I loved the playoff game where every player scored. I was hoping that would happen last night, too.

It has been almost two decades since San Antonio has had a draft position that would allow it to take or to trade for any US college superstars. It could have bought them through free agency, like, um, Miami. But San Antonio does not play a “superstar” style of basketball.

I loved seeing them demolish the Heat. And I don’t even dislike the Heat!

The Spurs were incredible to watch. Great team basketball both offensively and defensively. Reminded me a little of the Laker and Celtic teams of the 80’s.

I wasnt really a Spurs fan but the team won me over.

Lebron James should do whatever he wants. Listening to his remarks, he sounds very intelligent. He also has a lot of class. If he wants to create another dream team, he should do it. Dwayne Wade is a shell of his former self and Bosh is past his prime.

Not all that much of a basketball fan, but what little I did watch seemed to show convincingly that the Spurs had the better team and “scheme”. They just seemed to keep the ball out of trouble very effectively until they had a good shot and then they made it. My impression was that Miami was having to “force” things to attempt to stay up with the Spurs, and that made it all the more decisive.

Reminds me very much of the Celtics of the mid1970s; Havlicek = Ginobli, JoJo White = Parker, Cowens = Duncan.

I also am captivated by the international background of the squad. Was amazed to learn last night that Patty Mills is an aboriginal Australian!!! Being so successful without collegiate all-stars or high NBA draft picks shows what a great organization that ‘Spurs Inc.’ is. The chump teams in the league should watch, listen and learn. By the way, who knew that the French could play ball? Oui!
