Ways to save money?

I watch it via my IPAD app or my ROKU box. Go to WATCH ON LINE under “Amazon Instant Video” after you have logged into your Prime account.

abasket, sign into your Prime account, then go to the menu next to the search box and choose “Amazon Instant Video.” It’s the first choice. Then put the movie or TV show you’re interested in into the search box.

Some videos are free, some can be “rented” for a period (ranges from a day to a week, I believe).

Even keeping the house at 58 degrees, I pay $2K for oil per winter, prepaid. My computer is in the coldest room in the house, and I use a blanket, a hat, and, my best investment, fingerless gloves. (The bonus effect of keeping the house cold is that it makes the cat much more of a lap kitty!)

^maybe you should move your computer…lol

When it gets cold I have a little portable space heater and just put it at my feet–makes everyone else jealous… and SOP–I would get a portable computer and just climb in bed if I were you!

Our chihuahua dog hates cold. She starts shivering when temp drops below 80 degrees! The dog is the only one in our household who has her own personal space heater (tiny heater with a fan next to her dog bed during day.) We shiver saving on energy costs with our home thermostat set low, but we enjoy seeing our dog so comfy.

My FIL would always complain of cold feet and want to turn up the heat when sitting at his desk or watching tv. We got him a heated foot rest similar to this one and he loved it. No more need to turn up the thermostat.

Only eat out a few times a year
Take my lunch to work every day
Don’t go to Starbucks
Use coupons
High deductibles for house, car

By the way, what is Aldi?

Aldi is a discount food store. Well, mostly food. Certain things - not everything - are very inexpensive there.

[ALDI - Home Page](ALDI Grocery Stores - Quality Food. Everyday Low Prices.)

Aldi is now related to Trader Joe’s- though worlds apart. A no frills experience, bag your own, no cred cards. Usually not located in the high-price neighborhoods- but we joke about how we run into friends there, all the time. Most of their products, not all, are their own label. They have many German products we loved, when we lived there.

Like a previous poster, we saved a boatload when we bundled our auto and home insurance. In addition, many insurances offer a discount for people who have a college degree in certain specific fields - like biology, etc, IF YOU ASK. DH has such a degree but we didn’t know to ask for it so paid more than we had to for years.

I freely admit to coloring my own hair. In fact I’m experimenting with the color lately so it’s kind of a joke among people who know me. I get all hair products from Sally’s, so they are much cheaper than in a grocery store.

Once a week or so I make a dinner solely out of items I can find in the refrigerator, freezer, and cupboard. It’s kind of a game now. I also rarely buy meat.

coupons, library, home haircuts for sons (who are happy being buzzed), cars driven until they die.

Funny that I’ve not thought of that, but clearly if I were to use a laptop, I’d really never get out of bed (or off CC)!!!
