we all love our chances.

so, i haven’t taken my SATs yet (it’s kinda late, i know- but i’ve been hitting some hard times)
so this is actually me asking you guys more how high you think i might have to score, relative to my current gpa and ec’s.

cumulative gpa; 3.68. weighted i think? they’ve never actually told me.
ec’s; 2.5 years member DESI club.
senior tutoring next year. basically you help a kid personally for a semester, and you help a class/teacher for the other semester.

yeah, i know ec’s are really slacking. truth is, with my financial situation, i just never had a ride. college’s won’t care for my reasons i guess. but just to mention.

i’m applying to UC Davis ED, maybe Univ of Arizona ED too, then Cornell College [not university lol] RD.

also i have this huge desire to apply to some Australian universities. I’m studying to become a vet, so any exotic undergraduate studies programs could really help my chances of actually getting into vet school.

any comments anyone has would be welcome, thanks :]

What is DESI club?

In terms of transportation - couldn’t you take a city bus or carpool? On sports teams at my school, the coach and captains always offer rides.

If you want to be a vet, why don’t you offer pet sitting to earn $$, buy a car with the money, and volunteer/intern at a veterinary office?

i dont think UCs have early decision, theeir deadline is only a couple months ahead of those of other colleges’ regular decision
chance me please

@oneloveonelife-DESI is a cultural club geared towards middle eastern ethnicities. i’m white lol, but a ton of my friends belonged to it so I was really into it too.

as for rides, before i moved i went to a school i had to test into. via bus, it took about an hour and a half to get home, which i tried to do for a while because the rides were free. but after my freshman year, they revoked free rides for students and as lame as it sounds, i honestly didn’t have the money for a bus ride every day. for desi i used carpools but beyond that, i lived in a far boundary for the testing area and nobody really wanted to drive.

at this new school, ive just had a lot going on and i came in the middle of the year so i didnt want to join clubs when i knew it would just be more work to find people to drive me since my transportation issues have only gotten worse- i live further in the country now and theres no public transportation in the town to speak of.

haha, i appreciate the advice but i think you underestimate the cost of a car, and overestimate the money i’d get paid. in this new town, everyone has much more money than i ever have so they hire professional services. and i’m secluded enough that i’d be limited to my immediate neighbors (i live in the farm region of an already pretty low population town- at least ten miles from the suburbs).

i am going to try to volunteer or work for some animal services/ vet places but volunteering with animals is only open to 18 yr olds. i’m stuck at 17 until a few months after i’d already recieve my admission letters.

sorry, i don’t mean to shoot everything you say down >< i just live in really rough cirumstances.

@smiley, oh okay thanks. i hadn’t looked into it but i knew if there were any chance of ED i’d take it.
