Once upon a time, there lived a man with a fruit store. He made a banner that read “We are Selling Fresh Fruits Here” and put it up.

His sister one day came to him and said, “There’s no point in adding that ‘we are’. Who else’s selling them, anyways?” So the man took down his banner and fixed it. Now it read “Selling Fresh Fruits Here”.

Next day, an old man came to him and said, “Young man, why did you put ‘Selling’? It’s a store, for heaven’s sake! Take that down immediately. Your customers are not stupid, you know.” So the man took down his banner once more and fixed it. Now it read “Fresh Fruits Here”.

A week after that, a lady from the neighborhoods came to have a look at the banner. She said, “Why, there’s no point in putting that “Here”! Of course you sell those fruits here. Not there, here! Erase that!” So the man did. Now it read “Fresh Fruits”.

The next day, a man from another fruit store in another village visited there. He was angry. He said “‘Fresh?’ You make it sound as if only your fruits are fresh! Take that down!” So the man did, for the other store owner was an old friend. Now it only read “Fruits”.

The next day, his aunt visited the store. She looked at his banner and scoffed. “Of course there’s fruits here. It’s a fruit store! It’s not like people will think you sell tires or something!” The man quietly took down the banner and erased off the word ‘Fruits’. Now the banner was empty, and the man thought everyone was happy.

The next morning, a little child came to the store. She looked at the banner curiously. The man came out, smiling. “What can I do for you, child?” he asked. The girl stared at him and asked:
“What do you sell here?”
