Wearing a College Shirt to a College Tour

Hey CC! Im touring one of my dream schools (Harvard) this Saturday and was just wondering if I’d be okay to wear a Harvard tee as opposed to a polo. I know that I am overthinking it but I would just like someone to let me know if wearing a Harvard tee would be corny. Thanks!

No one will notice or care, and the people you see will likely never see you again - dress however you wish!

Yep, no one will notice. There will likely be lots of Harvard t-shirts walking around. One more or less isn’t going to do anything.

I’d aim for wearing the enemy’s t-shirt.
You’ll get noticed then. ;D

Doesn’t matter. No important person would pay attention.

You can dress up as a chicken, no one will care.

Okay maybe everyone will care… but that’s not the point.

I went on a Harvard tour (that’s when I realised I DO NOT want to go to Harvard), and I wore a regular blue jacket and blue jeans. Many people, however, wore stuff like:

  • School Letterman Jackets
  • Prom dresses (with high heels that made them look like they would snap their ankles hahaha)
  • School Jerseys
  • Suit and tie (it was raining that day haha sucks for them!)
  • Harvard shirts
  • Shirts from other schools (umm????????? don't recommend)
  • Sweatpants and comfortable shirt (maybe ditch the sweats)
  • Normal human being clothes (what I recommend)

Just don’t look and act dumb and I promise, wholeheartedly, that you will not even exist.

IMO, this is like wearing a band’s t-shirt to the concert.

Which I try not to do…because it’s like “Okay, we get it, you like [INSERT NAME OF BAND HERE]. Obviously, you’re at their concert.”
