Weather in Richmond, Indiana?

I am visiting a college in Richmond, Indiana on mid April. I am planning on things I should wear. Is it going to be cold on mid April?

Not likely to be bitter cold, but could be a high in the 40s, which can feel pretty cold if you aren’t dressed for it! Layer up – bring a sweater, jacket, with hat and gloves available if needed. Not likely to be snow so just regular shoes should work.

As in many midwest locations, people joke that, if you don’t like the weather in Indiana, just wait a bit, and it will change!

Usually mid April will be highs in the mid 40’s to upper 50’s with possible extremes in the 30’s and 80’s (unlikely but it has been known to occur). There is a fair possibility of rain. April showers… The advise above for clothing is spot on except I would add rain jacket rather than just a jacket. Spring tends to be windier too so the rain jacket will also serve as a wind breaker.

Yes on jacket. The wind can still be brutal in April, especially if the temps are cold and/or its raining. H loves to say November in Indiana is warmer than March (true), and April isn’t all that much better on some days. Hope you have a nice visit!
