I know this was covered on the wedding thread… but I want to get wedding insurance…including liability.
Suggestions?
Do you need liability insurance for just this one day? Talk to your agent or read your policy, but I think most umbrella policies would already cover your liability.
I want cancellation for vendors as well as liability.
Funny I’m just going over documents S sent me. His venue requires liability. They suggest checking homeowners or Wedsafe. Wedsafe I think was discussed in the wedding thread.
Some insurers will offer “special event” insurance.
The venue where my daughter and son-in-law got married required them to have liability insurance. They used Wedsafe. It didn’t cost much.
There’s also cancellation insurance available, which is an entirely different thing but might be worth investigating.
Another vote for WedSafe. They came through when my friend’s son’s caterer didn’t show up on the day of the wedding. It’s on of those things you never want to have to use but it’s good to know it’s there if you need it.
So out of curiousity, how did they feed the guests? This is my worst nightmare when planning the wedding; that something major will go wrong and spoil the day.
OMG, what a nightmare to have the caterer be a no-show! What could you do? Place some massive take-out orders at the last minute?
