^^But that’s what is available in only wanting two inches or less, no ankle strap, no block heel, etc.
The shoes I bought, which I linked to earlier are not shoes I would have worn with a short dress.
But with a long dress and only part of the shoe showed, they were good. The higher heels didn’t look at well with the length of the dress and the outdoor ceremony where I didn’t want to sink into the grass.
@soozievt, I know. I’m dealing with a friend who is a MOB. She was going to another wedding a month ago and showed me her dress - a simple LBD which flared at the bottom. Then I asked what shoe she was wearing with it and they were just awful and made her look dumpy. I refused to let her wear them and rushed over with a pair of my black leather & suede pumps (fortunately we wear the same size.) I told her in no uncertain terms she needs a pretty shoe for her daughter’s wedding and I will go with her to make sure. She is MOB and she needs beautiful shoes!
Yep…and I already have those shoes. Just wondering if I’m missing the perfect other pair of shoes!
I know what you said you want but these are both really pretty.
You are the MOB and need a pretty shoe.

Slightly OT - I just bought these today. Aren’t they fun? https://www.lastcall.com/Loeffler-Randall-Nicolette-Fur-Trim-Ankle-Wrap-Sandal/prod47340221/p.prod
I won’t wear an ankle strap…sorry…not comfortable for me.
I’m glad you like the fun fur ones…but they are totally not my style! And they are all wrong for my dress.
I would feel more a need for the really perfect shoe…if my dress wasn’t floor length…but really, all folks are going to see is a teeny bit of my shoes. So, I’m opting for nice… but comfortable.
And NOT $398!
Those shoes posted in #2 are the ones I wore for my daughter’s wedding (in silver). I have really funky feet and I can’t wear many shoes, let alone heels. These were quite comfortable. I got mine at DSW for under $50.
The fun shoes were just for me. I bought them today to wear with a blue lace dress this summer (and with white jeans.) Not intended for your wedding dress.
Think I’ll leave this thread now as I don’t understand not wanting a pretty shoe even if only a wee bit shows.
If you want to wear them for other functions, you could also get a neutral nude color, maybe with a little bling to it.
@emilybee I agree with you that a MOB needs good-looking shoes, but I have awful feet that are hard to fit. I may end up with Naots for my daughter’s wedding because pain doesn’t look very good on me!
Some people are truly shoe people and love getting different shoes. I’m not one of them. I want to look nice… but also don’t want to spend a fortune…and I just want them to be comfortable.
The shoes you posted are fine…but not my style. But thanks for trying.
@Massmomm, check out Beautifeel shoes. Super super comfy. I have a pair of their pumps. http://www.beautifeelshop.com/All_Beautifeel_Products.html
Regarding the color – yes, silver is exactly what you want.
I tried to link to what I wore to my son’s wedding but they don’t seem to have them in silver anymore.
As an alternate to silver, here is a J Renee in a ‘Blush’ color. not sure if it would complement or clash with your dress. https://jrenee.com/product/GIANNA-GFBSH
@mominva I clicked on the other pics…and it seems like they have a silver too. Might be worth tying on a closed pump. I had been thinking a strappy shoe…it’s a May 27 wedding.
Thank you.
- Silver or nude to go with the dress.
- Calculate the NPV of these scenarios:
A) Shoes you already have - $0 out of pocket, but you are not thrilled about them.
B) Glittery pair for $50-100. Might work well for photos, but it is throwaway $$ if you don’t have any other use for them.
C) A well fitted, comfy, and elegant pair of nude pumps or strappy heels for $200-400. Good investment if you have other uses for them.
If you are wearing a long dress, the shoes choice might not be critical. For DD’s wedding (admittedly teeny, eclectic), ai wore very comfy wedge sandals (AK sport) that had some gold bling. I was looking at the photos when trying to give advise to another mom, and honestly … you cannot see the shoes at all.
I was at one outdoor wedding where a bride showed us at the end of the night that she was wearing Teva rafting sandals under her lovely traditional dress… who knew?
My DIL walked down the aisle barefoot and you could not see her feet at all under the dress. The MOB wore a short dress with strappy sandals but took them off almost immediately after the ceremony and was barefoot every time I happened to see her feet at the reception. She did say she had been having problems with her feet (shots in her heels–ouch!) so I don’t blame her for taking them off, but I would have thought she would have chosen more comfortable shoes.
I think @emilybee posted some great MOB MOG shoes as did @soozievt. They may not work for @thumper1 but the links might help others. The beautifeel link has some shoes that look very comfortable for those who have foot issues but at least attempt to look pretty.
My MOG dress is long and the venue is wooded so I’m seriously considering some outside the box shoe choices. I love the look of high heels but I just don’t find I can last long in them without blistering somewhere.
I don’t wear anything except comfort shoes due to lifelong foot/orthopedic problems. I recent discovered–or actually rediscovered–Earth Shoe. You know those funky negative heeled sandals we all wore in high school. But the brand has grown up and they some really attractive shoes, including heels.
They have several styles that come in silver.
I bought a couple of Earth brand heels and heeled booties last summer and, oh my gosh!, I can walk in them for hours.

FWIW, I wore open toed booties with my mother of the bride dress when D1 got married a little over a year ago. I wore a knee-length dress since the wedding was outdoors and in the afternoon and the booties were the perfect choice!
