Wedding shoes.

@emilybee, thanks for that link! I don’t order shoes online, but I might as long as I can return the ones that hurt!

@musicmom1215, I love the idea of the bride walking down the aisle barefoot, especially in a church wedding. It’s very symbolic for a devout person. I will suggest that to my daughter. She loves shoes, and will need a pair for the reception, but the idea of not wearing them down the aisle is really cool.

If thumper1 was wearing a short dress then I would recommend some slinkier/sexier looking shoes because I do think shoes make an outfit. Truth of the matter is she will be wearing a long dress and no one will really see them.

I am going to wear a long dress to D1’s wedding also. I was going to get a pair of new gold shoes, but D1 convinced me to wear what I already have. They are 3 inches high, skinny heels and a strap across. It looks a bit like this, https://www.zappos.com/p/touch-ups-taryn-gold/product/8219678/color/385, except the strap across the toes is only one and smaller. I’ve had the pair for over 10 years and they are extremely comfortable (hard to believe).

@Massmom, I bought my pair at a boutique not online. You should contact them to see if any stores in your area carry them. http://www.beautifeel.com/Html/en/Fall/

Or call/email their USA distributor: http://beautifeel.com/Html/en/spring/locator.aspx

The Walking Company also carries them. Check their store locator. https://www.thewalkingcompany.com/beautifeel.htm

@oldfort the second pair of strappy shoes I already have…are like the ones you posted…sort of…but silver.

I like some of the earth shoes posted above…but they are too casual for this particular dress.

@BunsenBurner I’m not a big strappy sandal shoe wearer…so $200-$400 shoes will likely collect dust in my closet until I give them away. Not a good investment for me! But maybe on a BIG sale…

I have a pair of comfy sandals in silver called Salt Water. Zappos carries them if you search on salt water silver. They are $45 and might meet your needs for the entire event.

@momofthreeboys nice casual sandals…but I’m wearing a full length evening gown type of dress…and those are just a tad too casual. For my walk down the aisle…I do want a heel…2 inches or so. No wedge. I already have flats…

But maybe for the rehearsal??

Saw another pair that were cute & looked silver on the picture - deleted, though, because they were really gold!

Very pretty @kelsmom. But they have an ankle strap.

I know…I’m being picky…but I know what i don’t want! I just can’t seem to find something perfect that I do want!

Keep the suggestions coming!

Maybe, maybe not: https://www.zappos.com/p/sam-edelman-hazel-soft-silver-shiny-mirror/product/8787889/color/653183

@VeryHappy nice shoes…but 3 1/2 inch heel. I’d kill myself…or fall…or twist my ankle in anything that high!

I’m not sure you can find the shoes I wore to my son’s wedding 2.5 years ago (maybe on 6pm). They were Vaneli Milbie - 2.5" heel, slingback (no ankle strap), strappy sandal, very comfortable. I wore them all night and was still wearing them as I got back to the hotel (shoes are usually being carried by that point)

I’m not in the market for shoes and, to boot, am doing the February spending freeze but, @soozievt, you posted a pair from Nordstrom that are awesome. Come March 1st, that may be my first purchase! Good luck on finding the perfect shoe @thumper1. Lots of helpful people here on CC.

Similar to the pelle moda but no ankle strap is the Alex Marie “Layona” also from Dillards. I wore these and they were super comfortable. I bought them in light grey (more silvery with the rhinestones). Skinny 1-1 1/2 inch heel. About 70 bucks.

Wonder if these are comfortable??

They look comfortable if you can take a 2 3/4 inch heel.

@thumper1 - I have no specific shoe recommendations however the one thing I wish I had differently for D’s wedding was wear more comfortable shoes! Or at least stashed a comfortable pair of ballet flats under the table at the reception!

Sandals with no ankle strap are hard to find. It looks like you are limited to d’Orsay, like this:

https://m.shop.nordstrom.com/s/badgley-mischka-sabine-peep-toe-pump-women/4754004

criss-cross, like this:

https://m.shop.nordstrom.com/s/jewel-badgley-mischka-gal-glitter-kitten-heel-sandal-women/4841392

and slingback, like this:

https://m.shop.nordstrom.com/s/naturalizer-tami-sandal-women/4332398

styles. Please note that these are just examples of strap style, NOT my recommendations of exact shoes.

@BunsenBurner

I like that cross cross…except for the ankle strap…but if it’s comfy…well…maybe that would be OK.

The slingback you posted…too casual…but the style is OK.

I really think I’ll make a trip to Nordstrom this week. I need to try some things on.

I actually wanted an ankle strap but alas they didn’t fit. (I wanted the Pelle Moda). I think they’re easier to dance in.
