Wedding shoes.

@FallGirl

I already have my comfy shoes for the reception! These same shoes have been to a number of wedding receptions…and are great.

I just need shoes to walk down the aisle in…and for pictures…and for walking into the reception.

I know…seems silly.

Macys also seems to have a pretty good selection on their website and reasonably priced. I like these but there are more:

I guess a trip to the mall and Macy’s and Nordstom is going to happen this week!

@thumper1, re: the shoes you posted in #54, 6pm often sells their shoes through Amazon and provides free return shipping.

I just checked and, while they don’t have all sizes, my size in that shoe is the same price as 6pm with free returns. So, little downside to giving them a try.

DD’s wedding is in 8 weeks!!! Yikes!

In order for me to enjoy the event - heck in order for me to be mentally present at the event - comfort is important. I’m wearing these with a floor length dress. It will be an indoor-outdoor event with stairs and cobble stone courtyards and grass.

http://www.revolve.com/sam-edelman-loretta-heel-in-hot-coral/dp/SAME-WZ535/

They are comfy enough. The stack heel is a reasonable height, (no sinking in grass or sand) but there is absolutely no arch support or padding. Due to the closed toe I can’t simply insert a padded insole because they’d become to tight. It’s also going to be a long day - starting at 3:00 p.m with a bus ride to a beach photo shoot. The event is scheduled to end at 11:00 p.m.

I can’t wear flats, absolutely no support or heel makes my feet and back hurt. So…

Then it’s time I’ll change into these…https://www.zappos.com/p/taos-footwear-star-ruby-red/product/8660846/color/6181

Color goes well with the MOB dress and the bridal party colors. Comfortable as heck - plan to do a lot of dancing. The entire bridal party plans to change into some similar type of footwear.

I want to remember the day D got married as being full of joy, love, dancing, playing on the lawn with the younger kids, and simply enjoying each and every moment. Hurting and painful feet would defeat all of those goals.

I don’t generally care for 3" heels, but I ordered these for D’s wedding & they are very comfortable: https://www.lordandtaylor.com//main/ProductDetail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524442427354&site_refer=EMLLT13494TRIGTRAN . They were $40 … I can easily afford a pair of comfortable reception shoes, too … or I can save even more by wearing my bare feet for the reception! I have a bunion that hates shoes, and toes that hate flip flops, so I lean toward the bare feet.

Haven’t read the thread, but has anyone suggested running shoes ? Just in case…

@thumper1 , I agree a visit to both Nordstrom and Macy’s is a great idea.

Here are some options

Thanks @learninginprog those are on the right idea ballpark. I think the last pair has a little too much bling for my dress.

I’ll go to the mall…

I don’t have any helpful suggestions, but in some of the links I looked at, I saw the David Tate brand. I just wanted to step in and say that every pair of David Tate shoes I have ever had were comfortable. So if you have a chance to sit down, go back and look at those to see if any of them look interesting to you. I wear a 4A or 3A shoe, and I love shoes, so I have a hard time finding my size. David Tate shoes are great.

@thumper1, for my D’s wedding, I wore Bagdley Mischka peep toe shoes similar to those in @BunsenBurner post #57. Gotta say they were very comfortable on my problematic feet. Bloomingdales and also Nordie’s Rack frequently have sales on this brand. I got mine for under $100 (Originally $300+) from Bloomies.

I did wear them around the house a bit before the wedding, as I rarely wear heels. Also took a pair of flats for dancing…which I forgot about until it was almost over…

I wore Badgley Mischka’s to S1’s wedding and Stuart Weitzman’s to S2’s. I danced both nights away in 4" heels and never needed to take them off or change. Good, comfortable shoes for the mothers are worth the splurge.

Stewart Weitzman’s shoes are very well-made and comfy.

I love some of the suggestions on this thread. Daughters wedding is in 8 weeks and I haven’t even found a dress I like. I am not a fan of the traditional Mother of the Bride dresses- I don’t generally like sequins and sparkle- at least for me. It is an out door Arizona desert wedding so I want something more casual than that. I keep ordering and returning dresses. I guess I am just going to have to settle on something soon. At least once I find a dress I have plenty of ideas for shoes here!!!

Lots of good suggestions here. I really can’t go higher than 2 1/2 inches. My dress is the perfect length…and a higher heel will definitely make the dress too short.

In addition, I never wear a shoe with any significant heel…so I really don’t want to injure myself walking down the aisle in these shoes.

I’m going to the mall on Thursday.

Thank goodness I have a really cute pair of Me Too Silver ballet flats with a little leather decoration on them…to wear most of the evening.

I went and tried on MOG dresses at Nordstrom with a stylist. I am very sporty and mostly wear tennis shoes or flat sandals. She brought me these Sam Edelman’s to try and they are SUPER comfortable. They have a strap and you said you don’t want a strap. The nude makes your legs look longer. I tried the same style in silver and didn’t like them nearly as much. https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/sam-edelman-patti-ankle-strap-sandal-women/4154287?origin=topnav&cm_sp=Top%20Navigation--Women--Heels&offset=2&top=72&brand=4215

Sorry if someone has already suggested these. Both are 2” heels.

Those are nice @tx5athome . BUT with a three inch heel…they are too high a heel for me.

I’ll let you all know what I find. I’ve seen a few that I like here. Nude won’t work with my dress. It’s just not right.

I’m going to start at NR, then work my way to the mall…if needed.

I thought of this thread when I saw this FB link. For moms interested in bling wedges (especially for long gowns) - https://www.macys.com/shop/product/caparros-hilton-wedge-evening-sandals?ID=4398391&cm_mmc=carat_social_ret--facebook--feb1_promo_fb_ig_ret_dpa_roas_u8010001_11707-_-02042018_08042018&dclid=CPueutzQx9kCFcTHwAodajYLlA

Shoe shopping trip will take place Monday. I got smart…and called a good friend whose DD is getting married at the end of June. She, it turns out, needs shoes too. So we are turning it into a little outing…lunch first, then shoe shopping.
