Wedding weekend attire - help

I had a confusion once with Nordstrom website. I thought it said a particular style/size was available at the nearest Rack (about 20 miles away). What it actually said was it would be available for pickup at that Rack store in a few days… ie ship to store for free. Handy method, once I understood how it worked.

The NRack website has MUCH bigger selection than our local stores! More outfits, sizes, styles. Our local store is VERY limited.

Yeah that’s a caveat. If I try it, I would probably look for midi or tea-length, which tends to run a little longer on me.

Brick & mortar stores have a lot less inventory.

I’ve noticed the same thing with NR online. They seem to have pivoted in a lower quality direction. Very few actual “designer” items. I’ve haven’t found anything from there in a long time.

This is the dress I was thinking of wearing for the Friday night welcome dinner. Do you think it’s appropriate? It comes down to just below my knees.

I can’t tell what the fabric is, but it looks perfect to me. It looks like something I would wear.

Looks appropriate for the occasion to me!

It hangs on me better than you would think. It doesn’t look like a sack, ha.

I think it can work but I think anything to lighten it up to “summer” would be helpful. Lighter colored sandals as opposed to dark pumps, lighter colored jewelry like pearls….

Is it navy blue or black??

I will say that for the place and the request for “summer festive” (can’t remember the exact wording) just be prepared for many people to be wearing things that read “summer” more.

But the floral of your dress helps!

Thank you! It’s a dark navy blue. I have a lot of great jewelry from my mom so I can definitely lighten it up. I’ll have to think about shoes.

As long as I’m not INAPPROPRIATE, I’ll be happy, ha. I’m trying to get DH to understand that. He rolls his eyes whenever I bring up the subject of his clothing for this weekend. I’m glad his sister is coming this Wednesday, so she can give him advice.

I like it! The colors just pop. I agree…neutral shoe. Although….would you be opposed to a bright pink heel, sandal, ankle strap sandal? That would look SO cute. Kitten heels are really on trend this spring and summer!! Something like this? Lots out there.

I also wanted to say a pop of color sandal but I didn’t want to rock the boat, lol.

Cute dress, MaineLonghorn! I think the pink makes it summery. And pink shoes would be such a fun accent!

For me, the main thing about event shoes (learned the hard way) is that they be cute & comfortable so can enjoy and have fun too…
