Weekend Snowstorm(s)

Just returned from a trip luckily flying in today between snow events here in Northern Ohio. We are on tap for anywhere from 3-9 inches tomorrow depending on what weather report you listen to. And then a few more inches Sat/Sun. Ugh.

Schools are already closed for tomorrow. People are already talking Level 3 conditions tomorrow which would mean no work for a lot of people. I really don’t want that to happen!

I think this is narrow but wide band of snow that is going to eventually head to the east coast so thought it might be affecting some of the CC crowd.

Snowman anyone??? :frowning:

You lucky dog ;). We aren’t getting anything

Wow! So far, no snow in the forecast here in CT. Temps are supposed to rise…and we are getting rain…but not until mid week.

“Narrow but wide”?

Anyhoo, looks like 40s and 50s here in NJ all weekend, so it will be all rain, not snow. Enjoy!

I shoveled the 5 inches on the ground today, in preparation for the 8-12 expected tonight and tomorrow. I feel fortunate that I don’t need to leave the house for a few days. (Chicago area.)

Snowman? If it’s packing snow, yes!

Sorry I meant narrow band north to south but wide east to west!!! My mind is a little mush from traveling today!

@deb922 I 100% thought of you when I heard it was missing northern Michigan - believe me I’m HAPPY to share!

Where are you at @psychmomma ???

@abasket - western suburbs of Chicago. They canceled school this afternoon for tomorrow.

My D in downtown Chicago has been told to work from home tomorrow! She’s happy!

Southeastern Wisconsin, 3-5 inches of snow forecast for tonight and early tomorrow morning. Then “quiet weather” for a week: hurray!

I am so bummed about this. D is presenting at the Rare Disease Conference at Notre Dame and I was supposed to go tomorrow and Saturday. They are currently calling for 12-14" in South Bend :frowning:

Please send some of the snow out our way. The snowpack in the Sierra Nevada mountains is only 14% of average right now :frowning:

Sorry to hear that @sryrstress - a good reason to be bummed.

Ugh! DD is in Madison for a job interview and scheduled to fly out tomorrow around 5 to Detroit. I know she’s worried about getting stuck so I hope she gets out and gets home okay! We’re not expecting anything on this end that will be a problem.

She’s flying TO Detroit? Best of luck.

Yes. From Madison to Detroit to the east coast tomorrow night.

Detroit is definitely in the heavy band of snow. Make sure she checks her departing flight ahead of time for delays/changes!

@akmom124 Is she flying Delta? There is a rebooking/change of route waiver in effect https://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/traveling-with-us/advisories/great-lakes-region.html

If not, check the airline she is on for a similar program.

She is flying Delta. I’m assuming since the company made all the travel arrangements they’ll be on top of helping if her flights are cancelled. I’m hoping if that’s the case they’ll just reschedule for her and keep her there as she won’t make it to Detroit. I admit I haven’t been focused on the weather in the Midwest as I’ve been planning a charity gala for tonight so I was mostly watching our weather!

@akmom124, some morning flights from Madison to Detroit are cancelled but the afternoon ones are still shown as on time. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you and your daughter.

We got lots in Toronto on Wednesday, getting even more today, and then, yes, more tomorrow and Sunday. The schools here don’t close and no one gets to stay home from work. I’m surprised that areas like Chicago and parts of Ohio aren’t used to this type of weather. It isn’t like it’s unusual as it is in many other places where things shut down.
