I’m starting the Wygovy pill 1.5mg on Monday - I see that it goes to 25mg - does 1.5mg even do anything? Not sure if they start everyone at that and then increase? Maybe checking for side effects - a bit nervous about taking this but hopefully it will keep my hunger down. I don’t eat poorly, just too much - a volume eater.
Yes they start on a low dose and then you increase the dosage.
My husband found that the lowest dosage worked right away to curb the food noise.
He went up to 4mgs after the first month and is staying on that for the 3rd month because it seems to be working well
I only had 5 pounds to lose to get into the “normal” weight range. I lost 75 pounds 8 years ago and had kept off all but 6 pounds. BUT I battled food noise every single day for those eight years. My doctor put me on zepbound lat month. The 5 pounds are gone but more importantly the food noise is gone. I’m not white knuckling through every evening. I’m not having to resist another portion of salmon or chicken…..I eat pretty healthy but am always hungry. Always. Well not anymore. It’s completely changed how I feel about food.
I don’t weigh myself but have noticed clothes being less tight. Went in for my one month check and was surprised to learn I have lost almost 14 pounds on Zepbound. We were visiting family for nearly half the month, so I had less control over what I ate than when at home.
Insurance refused to cover it because my sleep apnea is a couple points lower than severe although my BMI was severely obese, so my doctor suggested I switch to Wegovy which may be easier to get covered. I’m ready to self pay even if it means giving up all my discretionary spending.
