I’m down almost 2 pounds since last Friday. Sort of surprised since I’m eating the same old stuff!

I like the idea of roasting the butternut squash before boiling it.

Congratulations, Mathmom!!!
I don’t know what I weigh since the battery in my scale died AGAIN! I replace that thing constantly. I think it is so sensitive that just walking into the bathroom turns it on and drains the battery. Anyone know of a better digital scale that doesn’t go through the batteries?

I like to buy that pre-cut squash from Costco too, but it seems to not last long…goes bad fast?

My scale is a Homedics…bought for $10 on the clearance “rack” at BBB…because it was a return without a box. I love it and the battery has lasted well over a year.

abasket- I search the Costco produce to check for the furthest out sell buy day. That is usually not the stuff at the top of the pile.
I used to make the soup without roasting the squash. The roasting pushes the soup to a whole new level of creamy goodness.

If you only weigh yourself once a week, I’d take the batteries out and put them in right before you want to weigh yourself.

My OLD scale was a Counselor digital…it didn’t have the 10th pounds which is why I got a new one. I think I’ve had that Counselor for well over 10 years…and I might have replaced the battery…maybe twice.

If your batteries are dying that quickly…must be something wrong.

Hey, I USED to wear 26 in J Crew cords but no longer. Now I’m in the 27. Weight is actually a tad lower but I think menopause is thickening me around the middle. Darn. I hate doing planks and abs and stuff. I love walking/running but not the other stuff.

Pizza tonight, delivered. Thin crust, “easy” cheese.

sewhappy, my waist is much thicker, but the cords are lower cut so they cross my hips and they fit.

I have no food in the house. Boo! I hate going to the market on the way home. In the rain. On a Friday night. And with that symphony of misery, have a nice weekend everyone.

Happy food shopping, Alumother! I will have to stop at Costco on my way home, since my “fruit bat” hubby ate every single piece of fruit in the house (I hid the dried figs, phew!).

As far as sizing goes, I can no longer tell which size I really am: i have clothes in sizes 0 (Nordstrom’s Classiques brand pants) through 10 (vintage-y Gucci top), all fit perfectly!

I use leeks with my butternut squash soup recipe and two sweet potatoes. I think the soup tastes a little richer.

I also use a dollop of non-fat sour cream and chives as garnish.

You know, whenever this size/shape thing gets discussed, I think it would be funny to have a group meet-up and see if we could match people to their descriptions. OH! There are the two apple shapes, must be EK & Mom60. OH, and there’s a woman with short legs, must be Alum. And then we would all reassure each other that we didn’t have ANY figure flaws.

Yes!!!
I have thought about that and when one of the posters describes herself I think "Wow! That’s not how I pictured her at all!!

It would be funny to start a thread in which posters tell what celebrity they most resemble…I mean if you absolutely had to pick one.

I’m a Suzanne Plechette type mixed with a little Cindy (what’s her name from Laverne and Shirley). Of course, much more ordinary than either one of those women.

I looked like Meg Tilly when I was younger (and she was younger). Meg has aged more gracefully than I have, though…

How fun – My DH has always told me I look like Elizabeth Montgomery from Bewitched. When I had long hair and bangs and was younger people would tell me I look like Sissy Spacek.

My “aging gracefully while dressing young role model” would be Diane Keaton. But one can’t exercise oneself to bone structure like that . . .

ellenmenope – Meg Tilly is such a distinctive, quiet beauty. That’s so neat you look like her.

EPTR - wasn’t Suzanne Plechette on Bob Newhart? Classy looking lady. Do you have the great voice, too?

I’m a Hailey Mills with brown hair.

In my day, my best bet for looking like a star was Sophia Loren - basically same height, weight, coloring, and shape - but I was not remotely sultry and her body was certainly more…alluring…than mine. Then eventually I turned Rubenesque (so much less so now than last June - yay), but she sure didn’t! Maybe if I had her plastic surgeon and support garments .

No. but if I start smoking a pack a day, I could have it! I’m going to start a new thread for this. We need a fun diversion from all of the Penn State talk. Join in, ladies, to get it rolling.

Good news here…I’m wearing my second favorite pair of jeans…a size smaller than my favorites (due to size inflation) but I could NOT get these on two months ago. I’m happy. Now…if I could lose 5 more pounds…that would be great…maybe too much though.
