the trainer helps me keep motivated and helps me exersize safely as I
have health issues.
congrats on the weight losses.

It would also help if the trainer is easy on the eyes…just saying…

Easy cool summer sweet treat…
1 small box sugar free jello(any flavor you like…I’ve done strawberry and orange)
I small box fat free vanilla pudding
1 cup skim milk
1/2 cup water
1 small container of fat free cool whip
optional 1/2 cup drained crushed pineapple

instructions: Dissolve jello in half cup of boiling water. If desired add half cup of drained pineapple.
In a separate bowl, add one cup skim milk to fat free pudding and stir
Combine the pudding mixture with the jello and add in the cool whip. Stir until mixed well and pop it in the refrigerator to set up.

It’s yummy, pretty low cal.and only takes a few minutes to throw it all together. Firms up very quickly in refrig.

I have to live with temporary crowns on my front teeth for the next 3 weeks.

The question is, will I eat less cause it’s too much trouble to cut everything up? (I am determined not to have these guys fall off.)

Or will I consume more calories in the form of smoothies, milkshakes, hi-protein shakes, etc.??

Oh, mommusic, good luck. Be careful and you won’t lose anything–I think we check most on the side.

We all made it through June 1: National Doughnut Day!

Back from China and a quick weigh-in this morning showed me down about half a pound. I thought with all the walking and climbing, in addition to not being real crazy over some of the food choices, that I would lose a bit more. But then I considered that I wasn’t watching the kind of food I ate, even with portion control. Plus drank regular sodas a couple of times when there was no diet/zero or bottled water.

But I guess the killer was the trip home - flight from Beijing to Toronto was delayed four hours and we all missed our connections that night and had to stay overnight. So several extra hours in the Air China business lounge in Beijing, the executive first class flight to Toronto, a couple of hours in the Air Canada business lounge in Toronto, the exec 1st class flight to Chicago, and using our two $15 Canadian breakfast vouchers at the Toronto airport Starbucks. All the time bored and nothing to do but eat.

The trip was a unique experience; totally arranged and paid for by the company. The main problem was the hotel was in an industrial area close to the company’s office. So once business was over and we started the sightseeing days, we spent anywhere from four to six hours on the company bus just getting to and from our destinations in and around Beijing.

I didn’t do my 20 minutes Wii fit each day, but I did climb the Great Wall, tour the Forbidden City, walk Tienanmen Square, walk the Long Corridor and climb the Temple of Buddhist Virtue in the Summer Palace, walk the length of the Temple of Heaven Park, and tour the 798 Art district for two hours. And more. I’m sure I must have converted more of my fat to muscle, right?

I always find that I retain water for a couple of days after I have been on a long plane ride, Marilyn. I wouldn’t be surprised if you find that you have lost more weight once that bloating goes away. Sounds like you had a GREAT time. Glad you made it back safely, and with more muscle…

I tried the eggplant with basil Martha Stewart dish tonight and it was fabulous and so easy to make. I ended up using too much vinegar–next time, I’ll cut it back some. Thanks for sharing it.

Good afternoon all … I’m slowly ticking away at my weight loss goal. I’m now down 4 pounds cumulatively, and that’s after a lovely Memorial weekend in Maine where I met Ben and Jerry’s new Blueberry Vanilla Graham frozen greek yogurt. This past week I had some minor surgery to remove a benign cyst on my vocal cord, so I couldn’t eat the day of surgery, but could eat soon after, so I didn’t starve. I’m drinking lots of water and am keeping busy, so hopefully this week will continue the progress in the right direction.

Thanks, jym, ellemenope, and performersmom for your inspiration, because I know it’s possible with a little focus.

You are now the inspiration, snowflake. Hope you are recovering well from surgery.

The last few days I’ve exceeded the calorie allotment and it shows. Last night I let myself have a carmelized peach salad at Calif Pizza Kitchen. It had nuts and cheese in it. But I hadnt eaten all that much all day and had actually gardened (a rarity) so ate the salad. I about had a coronary when I went home and logged in the salad- the calorie count was through the roof!!

Getting back on track today…

Ellemenope - your phenomenal success has made you an expert and you were correct; down another 1 1/2 pounds today - now into a new middle digit that I haven’t seen since I got pregnant 25 years ago. I know I’ve had it fairly easy; no big health or injury issues; no major life stresses; no big celebrations. Don’t know how I might have managed if I’d had to overcome the kinds of roadblocks many of you have faced.

I’m going lean and mean for the next 10 days to see if I can meet the rest of my goals by my one year WLFD anniversary.

Haven’t been on this thread for awhile (though I should visit more!!!) but thought of you all when I saw this Groupon this morning for this SWEET looking kitchen scale!!! I want one just because it’s so sleek and colorful, but not sure how much I would use it!!!

[Escali Arti Digital Glass Kitchen Scale Deal of the Day | Groupon Abilene, TX](http://www.groupon.com/deals/gg-arti-digital-glass-kitchen-scale?c=dnb&p=1)

Ellemenope- I am in awe.
Need to get back on track today. I have a couple of special occasion meals this week so I need to be careful on all my other meals. I am still maintaining but would like to get back on the weight loss train. I am getting a lot of compliments on my weight loss. The funny thing is I haven’t lost much in the last 6 months but I did go shopping for new clothes that fit me better. I am becoming much more aware of how what I eat effects my body, had one piece of bacon yesterday. Woke up this morning with my eyes totally puffed.
I never thought I would see this body weight again. Without this thread and the encouragement of all of you I don’t think I would be at the weight I am. Thank you!

That kitchen scale looks so stylish! I like it.

Looks like you’ve got the focus AND patience that it takes, snowflake. It’s hard to be patient when you’re first starting out…when everyone talks about losing 15 pounds in two weeks and you’ve only lost 3 pounds. But slow and steady will win the race when it comes to weight loss.

Oh poo. That scale is sold out. It is attractive.

I have been home alone for the past week or so, and even though I’ve done several good things (took the bike to the shop to get it tuned, gardened/planted a big flower bed int he front that got dug up by the gardeners last year and never replanted, etc, I have found that I am hungry at night and nibbling. I am not eating bad stuff, just going over my calorie allotment a bit, Not a lot (except with that salat at CPK Sunday) but enough that I am up a pound and stuck there.

I am trying to get my hed back in the game as I was doing well. Any pointers? Obviously I will do better to try to stay away from the kitchen after 8 pm.

Go to bed at 8:01?

There’s a plan :)

I made the eggplant mentioned previously in this thread. Everyone liked it except for my picky eater.

I’m a midnight nosher also. I plan my food/exercise during the day to leave room for a 100 calorie snack.

jym, I know what you mean about an evening snack … I’m temporarily on some antibiotics so my appetite is not the same this week, but as soon as it’s back I will be looking for snacks in the evening. What works best for me when I watch TV is to have something else to do … folding laundry is my favorite. If I don’t have anything else around me I can stave off nibbling most of the time.

ellemenope, I love that you have the discipline to save room for a 100 calorie snack. My goal is to work up to that level of control.
