This is not a problem
Finishing cool down at the gym. 35 min bike, 26 treadmill. Accidentally wore the wrong legging things and am too hot. Had a salad with fruit and one scoop of chicken salad at Zoe’s kitchen. No dressing. Livestrong says it’s over 700 cal. I’ll check my fitness pal because that sounds way too high
Zumba, one hour today. At least it has gotten easier. I come out only half drenched in sweat instead of fully drenched.
Whole 30 update- going well, no sugar cravings which makes this much easier, compared to those who have "sugar withdrawal’.
Have not been on scale, building muscle. Pants and tops fitting better- and, wearing bra on smaller hook! Feeling encouraged. Need to amp up the exercise- walking about 3 miles a day. Goal- get I to cardio range
Great job!! Keep it up!
Well I felt guilty for eating some low fat chops that I got for free at the supermarket (see the good deal of the day thread) so I pushed and did an hour on the treadmill (walk/run) for almost 4.5 miles. That is a first. Our gym got new equipment but unlike the old treadmills they have no fans! Too hot! Well, mark that off my bucket list.
Ack, typo-- chips, not chops.
Well I don’t expect to do that ever again. But I can say I did. Check.
I’ve been eating cautiously since I’ve been having a lot of dental work done. This week it was exchanging the temp filling (which I got after the root canal) for a temp crown. Left my inside cheek all tender. Good thing we are all smart enough to know that pain and suffering, even if resulting in temporary weight loss, is not a permanent solution we would wish on anyone. Otherwise I guess I would try to give myself another bout of diverticulitis and get another colonoscopy. :-S
I’m still doing regular beach walks on my PT days. I’m not really counting steps but rather enjoying the entire experience: fresh air and exercise, and the zen of the surf washing up at my feet. And occasionally bending down to pick up a shell.
I am sick again. Can barely walk to my mailbox. I’m not eating a lot but what I feel like eating isn’t protein and vegetables.
Marilyn-It’s been Ca coastal weather at its best. I spent part of the afternoon reading in the sunshine. Enjoying the sun but still hoping the rain comes at some point.
@mom60, feel better.
Yesterday the trainer had me do an exercise that I just couldn’t complete. Doing mountain climbers while in a prone position using an upside down Bosu. It killed my hands! So, she moved me to the mat to do the second set. That’s the first times I’ve rebelled against her, LOL.
Today was a Zumba day.
Oh, you know those two pounds I lost last week. Well, guess what? I found one of them.

That said, I also really, really fell off the wagon last evening as I hosed book club and let myself lounge in party mode for a couple of hours.
Feel better, mom60. And keep up the good work ladies!
I actually HOSTED book club, not hosed book club. LOL.
We had book club Tuesday evening. Ate healthy, but you know how it is with portion size. Always a struggle.
Just think how BIG we all would be if we were not battling the lbs with watching what we eat and the attempts at burning off weight.
Baby steps, baby steps.
I haven’t checked in for a while. The last couple weeks have been a bit of a struggle, but this week I’m back on the horse and feeling great!
My biggest challenge has been exercise. This week I have finally been able to get myself out of bed by 5:00 so that I can do a quick trip to the gym before work. Today is my third day. I’m doing 35 mins on the treadmill, using an app for a walk/run program.
I have also been doing an easy 24 min “yoga for flexibility” in the evenings (at home) and have started a meditation program on an app.
Of course, this has helped me rein in my eating, so I’m eating healthier and less.
It feels good!
Kudos to those maintaining healthful winter activites. Hope those who aren’t feeling well recover fast.
@SOSConcern and @VaBluebird curious minds would love to know what books you discussed at your fun book clubs??? Don’t want to derail this thread, but curious what you read? There are excellent book threads-so don ft want to derail this one. Just curious
Discovered new recipe - dried fruit. Pears and apples., made in oven at home yesterday.
Healthy, no sugar added, a little bit of cinnamon, and house smelled lovely.
Which app are you using, GCmom?
I’m at a huge conference in Arizona. It is 5:44 am and I am trying to contemplate my activity choice! I think I will go out for a walk in a few minutes and then do the “ActiveLab” at the resort gym. Sounds interesting!
Apparently if you just use smaller plates your portion size will reduce naturally. And people who eat off colored plates take smaller portions as well.
@jym626 for meditation I’m using 10% happier. It’s a meditation course, the first 7 days are free, then you pay. I just finished the free part and have paid to continue for now.
My walk/run app is a Lolo app with Jeff Galloway. It’s a 5K training program. It alternates running and walking and you can adjust the ratio of run to walk.
Ah, thanks. Galloway is very well known around these parts!
