Yes it is, good for you!
I have fallen off the wagon this week. I have not tracked my food for at least 2 weeks. Exercise hasn’t been happening. Funny thing is my pants are loose and I had 2 people ask me if I’ve lost weight. I haven’t ventured on the scale.
What I noticed this week with H out of town I am eating stuff I don’t normally eat and eating larger portions. I would not do well living alone.
Congrats Musicmom.
Jym626- you’re doing great getting to the gym. I haven’t belonged to a gym since my S was a toddler. Might be worth exploring.
Walked almost 2 miles yesterday, and almost a mile today and spent 20 minutes playing with weights and the TRX as well.
taking a break from tracking for a bit. aware but have other things on my mind right now.
Another one “off the wagon” -had the flu three weeks ago, so that excuse is getting pretty old.
I did walk 6 miles Thursday, so that’s something.
Be kind to yourselves, if we slip, won’t it feel more rewarding when we get back on track. ( she says optimistically)
Finally broke through the plateau. 8.5 lbs to go to goal. However, am about to leave on holiday and am not going to have enough internet access to track anything (I’ve been slack on that anyway lately). AM also leaving the fitbit behind because I don’t want to have to bring the charger. Besides. It might make me look too “american” and for some of the trip[ that is not a good thing.
Managed to fit in some exercise Monday and yesterday. And food intake was modest because I have no food in the house! But-- 12 down, 8 to go!
Crickets in here.
Just returned from a wonderful holiday. Took s holiday from just about everything but have now returned and will get back on track. I didn’t take my Fitbit, but my phone (which, according to the today show this morning, is more accurate) I walked about 50 miles in the past 10 days (longest was 8 mi in one day). I guess that counts.
Do you mean the health app on your phone?? What app is more accurate than your Fitbit?
Yes, the heart logo health app. The segment on the today show this morning compared several sports wrist gizmos to the apple and Samsung droid apps. The phones were more accurate. The Fitbit charge HR was something like 7% off.
I used the health app (iphone) before I got my Fitbit - but of course that only recorded steps while the phone was “on you” - jiggling in your purse, etc. Which is why I got the Fitbit - for more accuracy when I’M moving.

My fitbit wont sync with the ipad.
I am looking at the Jawbone Up 2 and the Fitbit Alta as I want something small to wear on my wrist that reminds me to get up and move and does some sleep tracking. None of the fitness trackers seem to get great reviews. Suggestions?
I am thinking of getting an iwatch (though my DHs has a hardware problem at the moment).
I have the Jawbone Up3 and it is a piece of junk. I bought it at Christmas when it was one of Oprah’s favorite things. I knew I needed to get back to better exercise habits and thought it might be motivational.
The good news is that I am back to a better lifestyle and down a pants size.
I am disappointed in the Jawbone Up3. I did three miles on the treadmill and the Up3 recorded 660 steps. I don’t know the conversion but some of the people on the exercise thread are doing over 20,000 steps per day and I doubt that they are walking 90 miles per day.
Also the clasp gets snarled in my dog’s coat when I pet her.
I have the Alta and like it a lot, but it does not have the stairs feature.
Took a week off last week from worrying/obsessing/tracking/counting etc. We travelled and I remained semi-conscious of what I should be doing, LOL. Walking a bit was my only exercise. Back to the grind today! Zumba! cha-cha-cha
For what it’s worth, 20,000 steps is 10 miles (give or take) of movement. Not that hard to achieve in a busy day of walking, a 3 mile run, gardening and such.
I logged over 21,000 steps yesterday. 2.5 mile walk in the AM, made an effort to get up and walk around at work all day then a 3.5 mile walk/run in the evening.
