Sorry about DHs surgery! I am recovering from my broken ankle too!
My broken ankle derailed my original WLFD journey a few years back - laid up for three months. Good luck, @jym626.
I hear you @Marylin I just broke a toe and it derailed me - probably more than it should have. I looked and see that I weigh one pound less today than I did a year ago. Well it’s better than weighing more! DH has been so stressed in the last year that we’ve reverted to drinking wine with every meal. I supposed I could let him drink alone, but that’s not much fun!
I put about 1/2 cup of milk maybe more into my coffee every day. I eat 0% Greek yogurt occasionally for a snack. And I love cheese, but mostly use it sparingly - grated on salad.
I just had my husband take all the Girl Scout cookies to his office for the workers. Why the heck did I think that this would be the year I could resist Thin Mints? It is shocking how many I ate in the last three days.
^ Girl Scout cookie idea- as a person who thinks an entire sleeve of thin mints is a single serving - I’ve resisted bringing any into the house
But, I like to support Girl Scouts - by doing this -
Look for family with multiple kids, ask the parents if I might buy them a box of cookies- kids pick out I pay- look on kids’ faces - priceless
I’m not buying cookies this year. My H doesn’t eat them and I don’t need them.
I track my calories on My fitness pal and each morning I receive an email from them with articles on different subjects ranging from recipes, healthy eating to weight loss tips. This morning I enjoyed the article on 3 key elements to weight loss and also an article on mindfulness eating. I highly recommend reading the email if you find it in your inbox each morning.
I let myself enjoy this long weekend festivities and will now get back on track (well, except there is still a lot of cake left and it was FABULOUS). I had lost about 9 lbs, with 7 to go. Will get back on track.
