Weight of ACT Scores by State

<p>Hello,
I have noticed that the average ACT scores differ as great as 4.5 points, comparing the lowest and the highest averages (MS with 18.7 and MA with 23.2). </p>

<p>Do you guys think this plays a role partially in the Admissions Office?
For example, if a student in Mississippi gets a 35 and a student in Massachusetts gets a 35, shouldn’t it logically count at least a little bit differently since educational facility/financial support can differ greatly between the states?</p>

<p>They usually look to the facility/financial resources etc of your own school to compare your performance in relation to other applicants. As far as I know, they do nothing with ACT scores in regards to what state you took it in, the ACT score you receive is already weighted in relation to how others performed.</p>
