Last school year, I took a course in Photoshop. My teacher said that the grade would be weighted as an AP on my transcript. On my transcript, the course is under Technology.
When colleges calculate their own GPA, do they only look at grades in the core subjects? If I have a weighted course in “technology”, will it be considered? Also, if it is not an actual college board AP course, will colleges still weigh it as an AP?
Thanks for any help :)

As in most cases the answer is “it depends”. Most schools don’t go back and reweight grades. They eyeball your class difficulty and use a standardized GPA on a 4.0 scale. Some schools only look at core or academic subjects.

Do you suggest that I e-mail the admissions office of each school I’m applying to to get a better understanding?

Yes, that’s a good idea.
