Weill Institute for Cell and Molecular Biology

Can someone please explain to me what exactly this school is and how do you get involved? I am majoring in molecular biology and was excited to hear Cornell had a institute for it but I am not sure what it means… Is it a college within the university or is it something you join?

It’s not a college at Cornell and it’s not something you would join as a student.
The point of the institute is to bring together professors from different departments in a well-organized way in order to study questions related to Cell and Molecular biology. Quoting from the About page on its website, here’s what the institute offers you, as an undergrad:

So that is still pretty nice for you. You can look for research opportunities with professors who are part of in the institute, and you’re of course welcome to attend any of the public symposia or seminars they host.
